Built ZL1's available at Dealers

Yes, this list really does not mean anything. I called 6 of the "for sale" ZL1s and all were already spoken for. In most of the cases the dealer was confused by the fact that it was even listed in the first place. Granted, this may also be a ploy to get contact with the dealer even though they fully know the car is not for sale but it provides an opportunity for future contact.

The list is as Becky indicates...a list of inventory pulled by cars.com independent of true availability.

I have tried every dealer within 1000 miles of Colorado and none of them have them for sale. The 2 listed above for Spradley in Pueblo are already sold and the are still even advertising them locally. Complete marketing scam on their part. As for the rest I checked wilth 14 dealers today and none had one that was not spoken for.

I called 30 dealerships from WI to VA back in the middle of February. Finally found one that was not spoken for it was already ordered, the order was sitting at 3000 and had everything I wanted except the LPO options.
Had them fax me the globalconnect sheet (I had been screwed once already) once I verified what they were telling me I put down a deposit.

It is still sitting at 3000 :(

You may be able to find one but you will have to be willing to travel for it. Friend of mine just got back from Orlando FL and said the dealer there told him they could get one but that was 3 weeks ago (and during the hold and before the letter about delayed Dealer cycle). Call the sunny states and get proof before you put a deposit down.

whether they are sold or not sold.

At that point, they are inventory....

Dealers use "vendors".... Cars.com, Autotrader, ....etc
to help maintain the most current info for their web info...

These "vendors"' scan the dealers inventory,
to "see" the dealers inventory, and post the most current
available vehicles.

Depending on the criteria...
that dealers provide for the accounting scan....

sold orders... can show..
Systems aren't always perfect....


I would suggest that,
Some may actually be available..
Call and find out...

On a hunch I checked my dealer to see the built ZL1's

There is one in inventory, when checking the VIN I see the one they listed is mine.

GM connects listed my status @4200 day before yesterday. I live in Brandon FLA.

I suspect that other pre-built ZL1's you see on dealer sites are also already pre-owned and are put on the site via automation. I'm sure at least SOME are this way. Some dealers may have chosen not to pre-sell at MSRP so they can sell early at a mark-up.

Anyway going to pick up my car now, she sure looks pretty on the website.

There is a rally yellow automatic 2012 available at chapman Chevrolet in Phoenix. Ask for Rahim. There is also a Victory Red 6spd 2012 available at Spradley Brickman in Pueblo, CO Ask for Zak. If only the yello one was a 6spd.... Probably a 2013 in my future.
