maybe my 2011 1SS is well below average MPG since I have only a best combined city/highway of 15.6mpg and lately I have been driving mostly city, stop light to stop light and have been getting an average of 11.9mpg(yikes!!!).... Interesting to see what the ZL1 will be getting...

17.7L/100km = 13 mpg US or 16.0 mpg UK(CDN)
10.7L/100km = 22 mpg US or 26.4 mpg UK(CDN)

Therefore the sticker from tpower is in UK gallons(CDN) which is 4.456L compared to a US gallon which is 3.785L.

I'm actually impressed at the fuel economy...here's why:

CTS-V has the same ratings. Yet ZL1 has more power, stickier tires, more aggressive gearing...and some more drag creating downforce...

The mileage doesn't make that much difference to me, unless the competition is getting more power and getting better mileage.
The Natural Resources Canada procedure used to more or less mimic the original EPA estimation method. However, the EPA has twice updated their protocol, while Canada has been stuck in the 1970's. This causes about a 20% difference, give or take.

Because we used to be part of the British Empire. Thats why we use UK gallons instead of US gallons. Its also why we have things like a Prime Minister instead of a President and spell colour with a 'u'. And yes, we have our own federal fuel economy testing procedures.

i was seeng 4-5mpg in my CTS-V at VIR.
The only reason that stuck in my minds was my Z06 buddies asked how I was doing on gas as I got ready to go out on track for my 3rd session of the day. Glad they asked because I would have run out of gas on the track. I guess I was still operating in the Z06 profile for track mileage

Now that the CTS-V has shown me the light I am primed for track usage and really looking forward to securing a ZL1 as soon as possible

LOL, I remember at Watkins Glen one year, I got 3 MPG on my C5 Z06. LOL because I almost ran out of gas too! You don't really notice.
