Flowmaster Outlaw review

I have a 2012 Silver/White 2SS/RS L99 and just added the catback Flowmaster Outlaw and CAI CAI this past saturday. This is my daily driver and I'm 51 years young!

This is the sound I've wanted for so long on a new car...this exhaust is deep and not overly loud in the cabin...the perfect exhaust note 80% of the time!
I have absolutely no bothersome drone at any speed but when the AFM kicks in it is horrible. I get a deep GONG noise, proceded by hollow "Fart Can" banging!
This will soon be taken care of thanks to Ted and SCT tuning! Then I will have MY perfect setup!

Thanks for the write up. This is the exhaust I will get no matter what! In the youtube videos I've seen, the sound is incredible.

Is there a way to get the tune for the AFM before you actually get the exhaust put on?

Yep! I just wanted to give it a fair chance before I diid the tune...I already had the tuner but wanted to see what issues I would have with the exhaust and AFM.

Where did you purchase your Outlaw system? That is the system I am looking into getting and just trying to find the best price. Did you do the install yourself?

I too want the Outlaw axle back.

I'm running FM Original 40 series now behind Kooks 1 7/8" LTs, HF Cats and MagnaflowTru X-Pipe but I think the 40s are muffling my sound too much. I need louder but not unrefined like a muffler delete. Right now I have no drone except a tiny bit in 6th gear sometimes and not too much decel popping.

I hope the Outlaws don't add more drone and more annoying decel popping.

they are loud with a setup like yours. My Outlaw axelback had the usual loud popping as All systems do, the resonated x pipe calmed it down. Drone was killed by J pipes.Would like to ditch the x pipe but back would come the popping and shotgun like cold start up.

The tuner I want to use is flying into town this weekend and I would like for him to do this now since I haven't decided on my exhaust yet.

$749???
Do they make a catback system now?

The last time I checked the Outlaw was only available in an axleback and was going for around $400-$500 at most places.

That's a tad much unfortunately, but it's still a great system so I wouldn't be too upset over that.

Thanks for all the PM's so far, let me know if anybody else wants one too
