Muscle is just that Muscle and compared to the other cars we have to choose from today it isn't the muscle car of the bunch. Nor is the V-6 challenger. Nor is the V-6 Mustang. These were called secretary cars back in the day and that's what they still are. It's just that technology has allowed them to be quicker than secretary cars of days gone by ,but they still aren't what our current muscle cars are.

Sorry ,but it just simple facts. Not that they're not nice cars just the same. I would own one if I wasn't a motorhead.

If you want to really get down to it though, the car in my sig is a true muscle car and is one of the cars that helped to coin the term.
Well, using your logic then the SS isn't a muscle car because the ZL1 is the fastest.

My point is that the GN ushered in the era of "Modern Muscle." The real muscle car era ended in 1971-1972.

This is my first time seeing this so I'll jump on board.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscle_car
Now, Wiki is not 100% accurate and muscle car is a loose term. Its defined as
"a product of the American car industry adhering to the hot rodder's philosophy of taking a small car and putting a large-displacement engine in it"

and
"any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving".

So,
American. 2 door. Relatively high displacement. Relatively small car. Designed for relatively high performance. Relatively meaning the size of the cars at its time.

So by this definition, the GN, Pontiac G8 GT, Charger V8, V6 versions of the camaro, challenger, Mustang are not muscle cars. The syclone is not a muscle truck. The GTO barely qualifies d

However, I’m all for calling for high performance, non-economical V6s such as the GN 3.8L and syclone muscle as those were designed for high performance. But they're technically just high performance vehicles which is nothing to be shamed of. The G8 GT? Its qualifies as muscle but barely due to the power-weight ratio.

Our V6s? Nope as they’re designed to be the more economical approach and the high performance SS is available.

Who gives a rats arse if a certain car could be called a "muscle" car LOL! Everyone has their own definition, opinion, and outlook in EVERYTHING! One man's dream car could be the next man's nightmare. Call it what you want to call it as long as you are happy. That's the only thing that matter at the end anyway.

Does it sounds like a muscle car? No. So no, it's not a muscle car.

It was only a matter of time before we got a "stupid post of the day" response here. Thanks man, you take the cake today. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll have plenty of chances to do it again.

People who say "A V6 is not a muscle or sports car"

What do you say when people who say "A V6 is not a muscle or sports car"?

It is starting to get old.

It's not. J/K...the Camaro V6 is as powerful or more powerful than any American muscle car in history from about 1973 until the midpoint of this century's first decade.

IT IS AND SHOULD BE CLASSIFIED AS A MUSCLE CAR. Look it up, it rivals a lot of 60's and 70's muscle cars.

I had this recently. My Camaro was featured on **********.com Facebook page. I had some guy say the above and it really ticked me off. I know my car isn't a "muscle car" but I like to consider it a "modern day muscle car". What about the v6 Camaros from the 70s? Are those not muscle cars? It just irks me I guess. The v6 today is faster than some of the v8 muscle cars from back in the day.

I hear it so often I just ignore it. Not everyone is going to agree with your choice to buy a v6 and that's their business. I bought it because it was all I could afford and I was too impatient to wait. Do I want an SS? HELL YEAH, and I wish I would have waited, but its whatever. Getting upset over someone's petty opinion of your car is just silly. It used to bug me a lot more, now its just obnoxious. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all. I see a lot of cars I really do not like and I keep my comments to myself...(usually lol)

There are so many of these threads though, so just be prepared... ha.
