20in tires on a LS model?

I have a question guys,

So im going to buy a 2012 2LS Camaro in the next few weeks, and the wheels that come with that model is the 18"inch heritage wheels.

I dont like thoose and I want to put the 20"inch IVS Black Chrome Wheels on them..

Is it possible to switch out the rims without having to buy a new tire for it? Like would the 20inch rims fit on the 18inch tires?

Kind of hard to explain what im trying to say but hope it makes sence.

You will need tires that fit your rims.

Think about it for a minute.
Your tire only has a 18" diameter opening, and a 20" rim is 20" in diameter.
There is no way your going to stretch that 18" tire over a 20" rim.

The diameter of a tire and rim always has to match.
18" tire = 18" rim

You can go with a wider or narrower tire (within manufacturers rim specs), but you can't use different diameter tire on a rim.

If you want 20" rims, then your going to have to buy 20" tires.

I have those rims, the stock RS and SS tires fit on them, the Pirelli PZEROs. Or you can buy a different brand.

You can buy a set of 2010/11/12 RS/SS wheels mounted with PZeros for about $1,000 off of Craigs List. You will in turn be able to resell your heritage wheels & tires on Crags List for $400. $600 for awesome wheels and tires is a good deal. Dealer would charge you $3,000.

You said you are "going to buy" a 2012 2LS Camaro in the next few weeks, so I'm assuming it's new and from a dealer. If that is the case, try to work out a deal to upgrade to the 20" wheels AND tires that you want before taking delivery. Most dealers will do that, take your old wheels and tires in on trade.

I don't know it the computer has to be reset for the 20" wheels or if it does it automatically, but in the old days, if you changed wheel diameter, you had to recalibrate the speedometer to compensate, otherwise your speed readings and odometer readings would be way off.

I think the 20" vs 18" question has been rubbed in your face enough, so I won't comment on that.
