you guys are going to love this one...especially Tim

so as most of you know my car is sporting one sweet ass illuminated rear bowtie...Easthampton Police evidently didnt like it and pulled me over....

guy asked me the usual do u know why i pulled you over...i said no...cuz well...i wasnt speeding...and i havent been nailed for my light ever and its been on my car for almost a year now lol

blue light yadda yadda...so i told him i didnt know the law (cmon...we all do) and that the car came with it (you can order a camaro in a 100 different ways now)

spends a while in the cruiser....comes back and tells me he went on chevys website and checked that camaros dont come with illuminated bowties...but that they can be ordered aftermarket.....i was getting ready to use the "well i worked at a dealer and had it custom ordered" line...but he said no citation have a good night...

seriously tho? how funny is it that he surfed the web for that ...tim...u ever surf the web on a stop?

thats pretty funny that he surfed the net to find that info out, But personally if I was a cop id give you the ticket just for lying about it. Lying to the police is the fastest way you get a ticket. You are very lucky.

I got pulled the other day for whipping around some girl going 15 under the speed limit in the fast lane, and the cop ask me if I knew why he pulled me over, So i told him the complete truth, and he was surprised by that and let me off with no ticket.

Lying to them or anyone for that matter is just dumb. you know your breaking the law, so take the ticket if you get one, like a man. You got lucky this time, but lying will only lead to bad things later. Its like all these people you hear complaining about speeding tickets. No one made you speed. It was a choice you made. if you break the law pay the ticket and move on. stop being a little girl drama queen about it.

actually...i did work at a Chevy dealer...and i've ordered Camaros for people with a lot more than just illuminated bowties...GM part or not...the car can be customized with that part before delivery

I am still waiting to get pulled over for all my blue tinted lights. Just yesterday a friend of mine who is retired PD was checking out my SS so I asked him if he would pull me over for the blue tint. He said it is illegal and used to pull "kids" over for smoked headlights because the smoked headlights did not provide enough lighting. The blue he said is no worse than some lights that are out there now.

Hey chris, it's cool that you did not get a ticket. Does the bow tie light up when the lights come on or does it have a separate switch?

But the stop was 100% justified


My old dept we had full access to internet in the cruisers. My new one I dont have that privlage.

Usually not....but thats just me. I dont even stop people for headlights out unless i really really need to stop that car.

I typically stop people for Speeding (20mph over speed limit), inspection stickers that are more then 4months over due, Red lights/stop signs or the good stuff, suspended lic, revoked reg.

You're pretty forgiving! What about malfunctioning break lights? That's my biggest pet peeve, especially when there is only one out of three that may be working. Or worse, the tail stop lights don't work, and most of the blubs in the trunk mount are out. And I've seen this more than once!

Four months on inspection? Wow! I got stopped once in the center of Billerica because I was less than a month out. But he was cool and just warned me. I got inspected on the way home. That was about 6 years ago...
