..... It's interesting...some days - you believe you have the best friends in the world.... ...other days....you come to realize you're being watched more often than you'd like to be.... And yet on others....you remember how to view, in detail, which moderator change the title of this thread to... But this day.....THIS day - you drive one of the most kick-ass cars in the WORLD...and that alone is enough to make what the knuckleheads are doing in your journal thread funny. ![]() hmrhrm - to settle a rumor that a certain speed-challenged moderator started...no, I did not fill up Lazarus with diesel.... ...the kind gas station attendant (apparently retired from GM), banged on the window to stop me just as I slid the credit card in. That....and the 40 "octane" rating button on the pump raised my eyebrow... ...and to address another little quip - I was not trying to figure out how to get the car out of the showroom...in a fit of nervousness being so close to Lazarus....Chris pooted.... ...finally........THIS IS THE MOST EVER-LOVING COOL CAR I'VE EVER SEEN, HEARD, OR DRIVEN....EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF MERCY!!!

Welcome Back J.
It's been one heck of a party, but we know you weren't missing it since you were out driving Lazarus...

Tom Henry treated me (us) to one of the most wonderful delivery experiences I think I'll ever have....that is, perhaps until we buy our next car from him...
![]() To start - we arrived Saturday morning to a salesman greeting us outside.... "You here for the ZL1?" More of a statement than an answer... "Yeah - how'd you guess?" "Well....you're all smiling - so you're definitely not here to pick up a COBALT, I bet! Hahaha." ...my other car's a Cobalt... ![]() Annnnnyways....then he promptly shook my Dad's hand, saying "you're going to love this new car!" ![]() Later - he realized his mistake and was good-natured about it, meanwhile John D, the salesman who handles most of the THR sales was simply brilliant about the whole introduction experience. Helping me through OnStar (who pretty much blew me off...the system was down, can't activate - sorry!)...showing me the functions of the car...and expressing a genuine appreciation for the thing. In fact, all the guys in the area said the same thing (which did nothing to keep my already inflated ego in check)..."People are walking right by that grand sport convertible to get to your car!" Yep - the car was in the showroom, as the pictures showed...and Tom kept my keys under his own personal surveillance to make sure nobody could do anything to it. Weasel stickers in the car, bottle of wine, THR shirt, hat, ALL my associate build papers and documents....which by the way - he had the mailed window sticker laminated in such a thick plastic I think it'll outlive me!!...and a smokin' deal on this car to boot. ![]() Honestly - I felt like a King, no joke. To top it off...he took us to the "Barn"...which is about the coolest place for a gear-head to be. Tom is a class-A guy, as are the staff members of Tom Henry Chevrolet. I eagerly recommend anybody check them out if you're thinking of buying a car. It's so worth it...they've got the small-town, family feel that is so hard to come by these days. ![]() And lastly, but CERTAINLY not least....gtahvit, aka Tran, aka that little snot who wouldn't tell me where my thread was at!!!!!.....flew all the way up from Florida and back in the same day just to spend that 6 hours with us as the papers were filed, and I got to fire the car up for the very first time. ...I can't quite put into words what that meant to me. I joked about about good friends...truly - it doesn't get any better than that. Thanks, brother! |

It's all about the experience...
The Camaro, itself...is more than just a car to most of its owners. To those who 'get it'....it's a way of life, nothing less. To be able to sit behind the wheel of this car - and let it sink in, nice and deep, that I'm not at a car show...this is not a friends...and no, I'm not even at Virginia International Raceway.....this is MINE - that feeling is priceless beyond compare. The night we came home...I found myself laying in bed, staring at the ceiling...reliving the days' events...and I suddenly became aware that my ears were ringing...but....yeah. Yep - I could hear the Lazarus' idle in my ears, ringing. I couldn't help but smile again as I was lulled to sleep by that mental sound. ![]() Being able to turn the corner of the house and see it in the driveway - that alone puts a smile on my face...it's.....*sigh*...ownership, the monetary value...that has nothing to do with it....knowing it's there, waiting. Ultra-grin. ![]() And I'll tell you something, Camaro owners.....we're jaded. Most of us anyways. It's REAL easy to get so comfortable with the car, especially if it's your daily driver...and forget the impact the Camaro team has managed to make with this car. I was wrenched back to reality when I sat in the Cobalt to go to work this morning....high seat, no hood in my sight, no rumble, no HUD, no stick shift, no suede, no acceleration....LOTS of roll....all I could do was sigh. And I LOVED that little car!! The Camaro makes you feel like a star...a King...a superhero. And the looks and honks, and waves, and questions, and revs I've gotten from people driving or walking by (just in 370 miles of driving, now...) have made me feel SO good inside, I'll be honest. ![]() Then consider the people! All of YOU! When I walk out the door and look at Lazarus - I don't see just a bunch of metal and glass...it's all of you! It represents this site...the Fest, my Camaro friends...and the five years of work and fun we've had while I waited (patiently ) for this moment...Add to all this...my relationship with some of the members of the Camaro team...hearing first-hand the effort, details, and sheer thought that's gone into the car...I don't see a pretty carbon fiber stripe when I'm driving...I see air being sucked in the front end and spat out the top...I feel the MR adjusting every inch of travel...I don't hear a loud exhaust when playing - I hear the valves open up to let out that roar... It's a unique perspective I am remarkably grateful to have...and it only works to deepen the sheer enthusiasm I have for this car. Being a Camaro owner is truly something special. I know most of you won't - but don't take it for granted.
