dealer called me today - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So my sales guy calls me today(which is a first, normally i call him), so i think its good news. he tells me that my car is on hold to be built due to the painted engine cover being on constraint.

so he pulled it from the order to get it moving again. I can always get it painted by a shop or buy one painted from gm accessories. My car is IOM so anyone with a SS IOM with a painted engine cover should contact their dealer. Just thought i would let you all know what i know.

If you ordered the RS package have your dealer make sure it's still on the order.

My dealer and another one in the town i work in have received cars with painted engine covers already as well. he said that it just came on constraint. Apparently GM is running out of painted engine covers or something, at least IOM.

I heard about the constraint in the interview yesterday with John Fitzpatrick. I ordered mine without, but then had my dealer order one for me to put on. I am glad I did. My order went in without me being contacted. It might have went on constraint without my knowledge.

Sounds like he made the right choice for you. I hope you get it soon.

The painted engine cover went on constraint May 7th. Why cant they just build it and swap the cover later? It's a dealer installed item anyway.

I'm kinda diggin all these restraints. Makes mine move up a little more.

So far I have seen none. *knocks on wood* 2SS/RS Black IO int. RS 21" wh. Very simple.

they must have built alot of iom in are area last week mine was a 2ss/rs iom in and out also a 4B00

you will never see the engine cover anyways. better to get your car. can always get it your self. or if you have skill would be an easy cheap paint your self

Dude me too. At this point unless it makes the Camaro go faster remove it! Get ya car here faster!

could be. I know it would be cool to get the Engine cover on the sticker but yank it....
