What are you talking about bro...I'm beginning to believe you less and less...the 08 mustang is already out first of all. Another question though, sorry my ignorance because I know more about Ford goings on...but is the LS8 supercharged or is that just w/e is left over to make in the LS1,2,3,4,5,6,7, line

All those engines except the LS6 are based off of the LS2 block, including the LS3, they just bumped the displacement up for the 6.2L engines, I think they just bored them out a bit more. The LS6 was off of the LS1 block.

hmmmm... the '08 SN95s are already out... and they dont have 355hp.

the Camaro is a 2010 model car, so, ummm, its possible that the Camaro will get a GenV engine.

the LS3 and L76 do not share the same block... the LS3, LS9 and LSA share the same block.

now the LS2 and L76 might share the same block, since they are both 6.0L engines

but the L98 was the engine that was in the third gen Camaro and early C4... are you sure you didn't mean L92?

I just went over the 2007 contract and I did find one other possibilty. The Tonowanda plant is getting a new H.O. V8 engine program starting in 2009. It doesn't state whether it's Gen IV or V, but it's a new V8 in the right timeframe. Just putting some more info out there...

Are you sure about that? Are all those listed not 4th Generation Chevy Small blocks? Displacement does not matter - since the 7.0 L LS7 shares the same block with the LS2, and all its cousins listed here, too. (Or so I thought)

I'm pretty sure that the LS2, LS3, LS4, LS7, LS9, LSA, L76 all share the same Gen IV block, to name a few. The rotating assemblies (displacement), bore (displacement), and heads, etc. Are a different story.

The L98 is a virtual twin to the L76. The only differance relates to active fuel management bits. Follow the link in my post with all the engines

my bad ... thats the '10-11 mustang im not paying too much attention to ford but in 2010 they have some new v8's with different valves and such but no matter the hp number for 2010 in these engine is going to be around 355 this has been announced...on another note

check your sources... these ARE the same blocks the pistons heads, etc are changed but ARE THE SAME BLOCKS the displacement is changed because of internal component changes ex... the ls2 and ls3 ARE THE SAME BLOCK one is 6.0 one is 6.2

MODEL YEAR 2010. Calendar year VERY early 2009 (actually late 2008 if you count the captured test fleet builds)

Wasn't that the new Cadillac V8 that got canceled in the wake of the CAFE BS? I could have sworn it was Tonawanda that lost the premium V8, but got to keep the new 4.5L light truck diesel.

I think I'm in the "couldn't care less" camp as long as it's a V8, makes at least 400hp (or will do with breathing mods) and generally goes like stink. Personally it's the 0-62mph and top end numbers that count to most - not the "My car has 14trillion hp" - that's what us europeans call "Pub talk". It's completely toss.

Besides, mines gonna have a supercharger either factory or otherwise!

Hook that 3.4 up to the old 4 speed automatic and see how it feels.
