Here's my prediction on the NEW 20' 2013 wheels............. they will be the 45th Anniversary wheels design (painted silver, RS- midnight silver or polished). GM has done this in the past where a "special edition" model gets a special wheel that is only released the next model year. Example- the 1994 Trans-Am 25th anniversary model had a NEW white 5 spoke design wheel. In 1995 all firebirds came with the same wheel design in silver or optional chrome.

+2...i like the features of the screen,it fits well in the Equinox and other g.m. vehicles but it just looks out of place in the camaro with the current dash, maybe if it was recessed in a bit like other g.m. cars,...?

I have a question about the dual mode exhaust system. I understand how the thing works with the solenoids diverting the exhaust into a straight path through the mufflers versus the baffled path. My question is would it be worth buying a 2013 for the dual mode exhaust option or can I get the same performance result by getting a 2012 and just installing an aftermarket exhaust? I figure if I did it that way, it would be like the dual mode was constantly on, right? And I'm not interested in the 1LE package, so that's not a factor in the decision for me.

An aftermarket exhaust will probably make more power than the dual mode exhaust. If your goal is solely based on horsepower, buy aftermarket. But, if you want quiet comfortable freeway cruising or cruising in general, go dual mode. This avoids attention from popo and meets noise requirements.
I like the idea of taking the family for a quiet drive while still being able to make noise when I want to.

You can make them functional easily enough. You'll need to tap into a vacuum source, either the fitting that's molded into the rear of the intake manifold, or just T into one of the vacuum lines in the same area. Run that into an exhaust controller like "NPP in a Box" (Google it), then the split lines to your mufflers. You'll wire it in to your fuse box for power, and you're in business. Plus, you'll have the added benefit of having the remote controller (or you can hard wire a switch) and be able to open or close the valves at your discretion, something the factory setup won't allow you to do.

Thanks guys. I think cost wise, the 2012 would be the way to go for me. I see the Camaro as a muscle car. That being said, I dont mind a little noise. I want the some horsepower from the exhaust. I dont want to go crazy into the 500 and 600 HP range, but I would mind getting about 475 HP or so to the wheels (which DOES take the car into the 500 HP range, I know, but I'm talking the power you can feel in the seat of your pants here!).
As you can see, right now I'm driving a 1995 Acura Integra GSR, which only has 170 HP on a good day. So upgrading to 425 HP will likely satiate my need for speed for quite a while. I think I will focus mainly on asthetic upgrades at first. I've found some really cool stainless steal engine covers online and a hot set of wheels. I also want to get the unpainted front spoiler from the factory bodykit and some kind of grille replacement with the new SS emblem. When I do go for the performance upgrades it will probably be limited to an exhaust (Probably Borla cat-back) and an intake (The VR Camaro ram Air intake) and probably some kind of tuning to take full advantge of the new flow. The car itself will be a 2SS RS, Inferno Orange Metallic with black rally stripes and the orange leather interior package. ![]() Sorry for rambling. I just get really excited at the thought of finally getting my dream car! :5thgenvert:
