Well, that might work for someone, but not me. I like my car way to much to resort to a 'bailing wire' type job. Either the bulbs should fit correctly
or they should not be used at all, at least in my small world. And thanks to Mr_Draco for the info.

What amazes me is you can't find hardly any info on this issue. For the most part the forums are quite and most (not all) vendors are not disclosing this before buying. They still say the PW13 bulbs fit 2010-2012 model year....NOT TRUE! Did notice AAC does not specify model years at all. But adding a comment stating they don't fit 2012 would be nice.

Wonder if the change took place mid year?

Did you buy from AAC? If so, I would be interested to know if they fit. I'm beginning to wonder if there was really a change or if there are two different typs of bases floating around and all are refered to as being PW13. I called AAC and they don't have any knowledge of a change and continue to sell their bulbs for 2012 RS cars.

Just another piece of information for what's worth. I just called the dealer to see what the parts manual calls out for that bulb. They said normally next the P/N would be the universal part disignation (PW13). For my VIN, it only listed the bulb P/N with no PW13 next to it. I then had him look up a 2010RS. It called for a different P/N AND had the PW13 next to it. So I confirmed that for my VIN, I defintely have a different P/N for that bulb and could mean it's a dealer only item!!!

I have the P13W Plasma LED's on my 2012 and they fit just fine. I purchased them from AAC back in August 2011. I used them on my 2011 SS/RS before I traded it in, and they worked just fine on it as well. No trimming necessary.

I see that the OP has the older SMD LED's, so maybe that is the reason they aren't fitting properly? I hope you guys are able to figure this out, but I wwould agree with Steiger and contact Jonathan at AAC.

Just to clarify
There are two different types of bulbs. Some 2012 models have the "PSA26W?" bulbs the OP posted a photo of. All other cars have P13W. Here is a photo of the stock bulb from a 2011 car. Its pretty obvious the bulbs are different. What's not known is what 2012 cars are affected.

If you want to know which bulbs you have, just pull them out and look at the base.

It will either say PSA26W like in lionheart's pic or P13W like in buffaluphagus's pic.

Very informative...thanks guys. My plasmas arrived from AAC in late march and when my car gets here this weekend, I'll check. Looks like Im hoping for the p13W bulb in my car. Man, isn't it one thing or another?

Wish I could have ordered AAC bulbs. Just can't justify spending what they want for them. I'm sure the quality of their product dictates the cost. I just couldn't do it. I went with a knock-off. I will advise on if mine fit when they get here.

Has anyone thought about buying the OEM 2010/2011 connectors/pig tails and replacing them? This would require cutting wires or at least re-inserting wires into the new connectors. This would make the regular plasma and LED bulbs fit perfectly though... and no loose connections. Wonder how much the OEM ones are?
