"#3. My family and I have made careful considerations, short of putting my car in neutral and pushing it unpowered into the street. I start my vehicle and immediately exit my driveway in less than 60 seconds, executing an immediate 180-degree turn onto 5th Street in the hopes of angling my exhaust away from your domicile. I challenge you to find other neighbors who make their departure from their homes in such a fast, miserable, "hope I don't get in trouble" manner."
Your a great neighbor for going threw all that, guy is simply a HATER, you will get alot of this going foward.

Is there a HOA (Home Owners Association) with in your Mobile Home Community. You could bring up the note to them. State your car has factory stock exhaust and meets all California State Laws.

Or just wait for a person in a walker to place a note on your car and take his tennis balls from him.

Thanks, brother, I'm with the green team now. Proud of my blue and green association(s).

I remind myself that we serve this great nation so that *posterior egress* types like this neighbor can have their say without getting shipped off to the gulag.

Serenity now, serenity now, serenity now, serenity.....

I got cameras on my home so if anyone even comes up to my driveway it sets off a motion alarm I'd jump up and beat some ass if someone was near my car on my property also i would hold him there until cops came and tell them that he was car prowling. What a coward! Only some cun t would leave a love letter

its stock, he can shove it, nothing illegal about what your car does. Also stock isn't that loud even, if his hearing is that sensitive then he needs ear plugs. Also think you need to rev it in the morning now :P lol

I'd have taped earplugs to his windshield.

Just be careful with all of that, i have heard of too many cars being keyed and vandalized when someone got pissed off, that is my worst nightmare.

I wouldn't worry about it...Stock exhaust...If its not illegal during the rest of the day, its not illegal at 4 am!...There's always at least one busy-body in every neighborhood. Be polite, but just ignore them. They will get the idea.

Find a copy of the code allegedly violated. Is there a specific decibel limit that can't be exceeded, or is it merely a vague "too loud" type of thing?

Is your car stock? If it is, then Santa Clara Code is trying to regulate matters that are in the exclusive province of the California government (or possibly the Federal government). Specifically the county doesn't have the authority to establish lower noise limits than those permitted by the state.

If your car is modded, it may be a bit more difficult to prove compliance, but the manufacturer may be able to help you.

Seems more likely that the person who write the note to you is talking out of his ass.

Yup, I mentioned a few times that my vehicle is stock.

I simply suspect that the neighbor has a bigger issue with my car not being powered by gerbils and moonbeams than the noise. Hard to say.

I guess if he's up at 4:30 on my account, he can join me for a cup of coffee. I *am* a civilized neighbor, after all.

Sweet....neighbor tells me he's friends with the chief of police. Neat-o!

Guess I'd best trade in the Camaro for a unicycle. I say unicycle, because a unicycle's one wheel is probably way quieter than a bicycle's two.

Unless the unicycle is stock, in which case, I'm screwed again.
