Sounds like its time to place an order from Fairfax, South Dakota.
I think it might be a great way to weed out the problem!!!

I would never do anything like that..........

Insurance adjusters read this too, you know.

I'm kidding, really. Really. Really? Probably. Definitely. Maybe.

I'd go this route.^^^^^.....Until this happens, just ignore it.

That's the stuff - I'm square. Thanks heRS and everybody...

Now I'm ready to sit back and let ole boy simply play into my hand...

....or not. Totally his call. Got the code in my hand, the decibel; hell, even called Code Enforcement and am ready to have Mr. Giggity Giggity measure my decibel level if needed.

Glad to have your folks' good thoughts. Many heads are better than one (especially the neighbor's).

You're totally in the right with a stock vehicle. Your neighbors are welcome to move, or wear earmuffs.

My neighbor would not have to worry about my car if he were to touch it again.

Note that the code says that the sound level must be below X level from the observer's domicile. That means your stock 2SS at 47.6 decibels is going to be somewhere greatly below that number by the time the sound waves travel through your neighbor's walls.

In the meantime, download a simple decibel-measurement tool on your smartphone. It's obviously not going to be exact; but, you can get a relative number based on what the reading is without your car running, then the level with your car running. Keep it a copy of that information handy, including what tools and process you used for measurement, and give a copy of it to your neighbor.

The funny thing would be if the ambient noise at 4:30 AM is greater than 47.6 decibels.

Lol?

Complaining over a stock Camaro? Go ahead and throw on a Borla Atak, and see what kind of note is left after that.

Borrow a buddy's Harley for a few days. They will beg you to start driving your Camaro again.

I am absolutely serious...you folks have made me laugh at more stuff in this thread than in several I've seen.

Thanks for the levity!

I did speak with our community manager. Essentially heard, "Wow, we've never gotten a complaint from you or about you, is everything okay?" I let them know we're handling it plenty fine.

I think I need to call a few of you (especially a grizzled NCO or two) to come in and take care of business. I pay well.

I'm willing to be mentored!

(That's a joke; I'm a prior enlisted old guy, and I want y'all to stay on the good side of the fuzz, m'kay?)

Where my kid lives with his college room-mates, the neighborhood complainer/griper lady came over while we were moving the kids in. She read all the kids the riot act about noise, how she would call the cops on them all the time, etc., etc.,.We all rolled our eyes, and were like WTH...
Before anybody else responded I told the kids, "You guys take this woman's trash barrels out for her on trash day, put them back, wash her car from time to time."

The kids actually do this. She brings the kids food and keeps an eye on the place when they're gone, they make all the noise they want, and the old lady loves them!
Its better to use an ounce of sugar, than a pound of vinegar!...just sayin....
