I have had enough, cancelled my order

Well men, and ladies, I wish you all the best with your new Camaro's, I really do still love the look of the car.

But I have bailed, and I'll tell you why.

First, I stand in line waiting to pay sticker price for a company that has already been the benefactor of my tax dollars.

Now they apparently are closing enough dealerships so that its a concern if I would get my car, or, get it serviced as I expected.

Lastly, I get a knucklehead for a dealer, that wont respond to my emails, or return my phone calls, and to make matters worse, will not refund my deposit!! My feeling is, he's one of the dealerships being closed.

NO car is worth this amount of bull, and my money is not going to support the lack of customer service at the outset of a sale, because we all know it gets worse after you buy the car.

Its tough to feel any compassion for an industry that asks for financial assistance, and then falls all over itself in the process.

Shame on the dealership that didnt have the courtesy to respond to any of my inquiries, I wont forget the bad taste they left in my mouth. If they dont get closed down by GM, I will do my best to see that they never get a sale from me.

Hopefully, in a few years, the cars will be more readily available, and at a discount. I NEVER plan on doing business with any dealership that behaves in the manner that mine did, no matter what kind of car, or how hot it is at the time.

This reminds me of the mindset that Harley Davidson had during their heyday, and as all things come around, they are suffering as a result of their business practices when they had the consumer by the short hairs.

Its been a great forum to read, I learned more here about the Camaro than anything my dealer could have, or would have, been willing to tell me.

Good luck to all of you that are staying the course, you will be the coolest looking cars out there. I hope that none of you run into the same situation that I have.

Sucks to hear that... why cancel if you can't get your deposit back though? Also I'm sure your car will arrive very shortly afterward... then you'll be even more upset... the wait is not too much longer for pre-orders... especially in comparison to the 3 years we've waited since the unveil...

Seems like your gripe is more with the dealer not GM itself. You have every right to do what you did though. Its you decision.

Dam! They won't give you your deposit back? WTF? That's theft if it was refundable. Dealers won't be closing until the end of 2010...not this second. That is just bs. Can't blame you on this one.

Well, its a combination of the things, but the dealership really pushed me over the edge. What I dont want to do, is get back in line again, and pay sticker or above, for whatever is left in the inventory of another dealer, all of which are an hour away from me at best.

I know that delivery may be right around the corner, but the dealership is only getting two of them, and may very well be slated for closure anyway.

I have put off buying a car like this for almost three years, since I first laid eyes on it in the movie, but geez, the sequel is going to be out soon, thats just too much time to devote to any one vehicle, especially when there are great deals on used Vette's, Mustang's, 350z's, etc.

Now before someone tells me those cars arent as cool as the Camaro, I agree, but those cars are available, affordable, and dont come with the butt kissing required to get a dealer to allow you to buy a car from them.

The only power we have as consumers is our money, and I am not prepared to sacrifice my hard earned dollars to this type of situation.

You need to give Camaro Scotty a call or PM him.

He can drop ship the Camaro of your dreams to your door step.

Most important of all, you can trust him.

PM Scotty right now.

I can't argue with any of your logic...honestly. Hope you find the car you want.

Dont jump into anything too soon! In a couple years tops, you'll be able to get yourself the Camaro you really want (used or new), without all the hassles you've been dealing with now.
