OK, so let's review what I learned...

Number one-- I could not find a feasible way to reuse those two back fuel shield bolts. One would need to bend the fuel shield to get that to work properly. Given the tight space, I just wasn't going to fool with it.

Secondly-- it is MUCH easier to use the gasket maker to affix the ICE-olator to the intake manifold and then set the entire thing down on the engine rather than try to wiggle it into the correct place. Maybe there were concerns about port blockage, but I wasn't worried about it.

Thirdly-- it is REALLY important that you keep track of what bolts go where. I'd suggest tagging the ones that come out of the intake, because if you don't, you might be left pondering what goes where, which can make for a panic moment.

Fourth-- when you trim that foam at the back of the engine, cover up the cylinders with a sheet of paper or something so you don't drop foam into the cylinders and then have to use a shop-vac to get it out

The 2 back bolts are not supposed to go back in. You should have had 3, if not 4 bolts left over. I had 4 becasue I remove the bracket to the TB.

Trimming, what did you trim? There was nothing to trim?

Yeah, there was some black foam in the back that the directions said you could trim for better fitment. It did help make everything settle back more easily.

I did have 4 bolts left over after I removed the bracket to the TB

Weird, mine fit with no issues.

Yes, good job!

I had to trim the heat sheald so would fit. Mine wouldn't go back in without a big bend in it.

some of the models require you to trim the foam insulation piece in order for the ice-olator to lay correctly. during initial fit testing, the insulation doesn't allow for the ice-olator to line up with the ports properly. but one attached to the IM, the ice-olator will line up as everything is bolted back together even without trimming. i think there are variances of the insulation piece as to why some people never see the issue with it during fit testing. just my .02

Hope it makes sense.
Ar'nt these just regularly threaded bolts or are you trying to say they are reverse thread? You should loosen them the same as any other bolt no?

Yes, they are regular bolts but you are doing it from the front of the bolts, kind of like in a mirror.

There is no need to remember "lefty-loosey, righty-tighty"; "is the bolt going this way?"; "is it going that way?", etc... Just use the right-hand rule: hold your right hand with your thumb pointing out and your fingers curled (like you are hitch-hiking). The finger-curl shows the direction of the bolt turn, and the thumb shows the direction of bolt movement. Even if you flip your hand around, you can't be wrong. That means there's only one thing to remember, instead of four. Of course, this only holds for right-threaded bolts/screws. Here are two pics demonstrating what I mean:

Tighten

Loosen

No - you aren't dumb. I should have been clearer. Imagine an arrow starting at my knuckles and curling around to point at my fingernails. That arrow would be the direction that I intended to rotate the bolt with the wrench. Now imagine an arrow pointing along my thumb also toward the nail. That arrow shows the direction the bolt would move if I turned it in the direction that my fingers are showing.

I don't have any s/w that lets me draw the arrows...
