got a few good pulls on the highway this morning. like jay said, the difference isn't the same as with installing the 25mm insulator.

monitoring KR and running 93 Octane, KR didn't kick in till 5250rpm and pulled 4-5 degrees of timing at WOT.

it seems to respond better to throttle input, meaning that the hesitation during initial acceleration or punching the peddle is deminishing.

the pull through the lower-mid RPM range is a bit stronger. this makes perfect sense because at higher RPM's the air isn't in the plenum long enough to equalize to atmospheric pressure. it flows straight to the cylinders...for the most part.

now to get on the dyno and see how the TQ curve is effected! and 0-60 times. current best time is 5.7sec before install.

I haven't had a chance to dyno the plenum spacer like I wanted to so I can't say how much gain the plenum spacer offer, but going off my butt dyno, the "feel" is not the same as when I had first installed the 25mm insulator, but I wouldn't expect the same type of gain as the 25mm insulator because the effect of extra plenum volume is much different than what a intake manifold insulator does.

The main thing I noticed as I mentioned awhile back is that there's much less knock. Usually there would be about 3* of KR at part throttle from about 2k rpm and goes up to about 4*-5* by 4k rpm. After the plenum spacer there's 0 kr from 2k rpm and does not start to reappear until about 3500rpm but with much less kr. I was actually very surprised by this and vince had to actually recheck my tune to make sure that I was not running with kr desensitized adjustment Our LLT is very kr active naturally. 1* of less kr mean more stable power!

The torque seem to be much more flatter after the spacer too.

Another nice one steve
Thanks for the feedback Jay

Not a group buy as such, but if you send us a PM I’m sure we can work something out

Yeah not cheap :( Clearly we don’t make a huge amount on these

Ah sweet, glad to hear more feedback about the product! Got to be happy with the reduction in knock retard

Done

On the pricing note, for those who aren't running a manifold insulator or who are looking at upgrading to a thicker one to better suit their driving requirements, we can definitely offer a better price given the savings on postage

Anybody know if those Plenum bolts on the side (not the ones that go through the manifold and all the way to the heads) are 18 lbs torque as well?

good question. for some reason, 14ftlb's sounds familiar. i could be wrong, so i'll do some digging around just to double check.
