You realize that he can snooze all he wants? The clock doesn't start ticking until the car moves. So his reaction time would be like it shows +1.500 but his actual time starts from the moment the car moves until it passes the traps..

Congratulations! That thing is a monster!

It's great to see so much potential being coaxed from the ZL1 barely two months after deliveries started.

I read every post in this thread and.....omg, the comedy of the misinformed and the conspiracy theorists is awesome.

For the comments about the 1.9-liter supercharger being too small, I don't think that's the case. GM was running relatively low boost - there's a lot of room to grow if you can keep the temperatures under control. For perspective, I believe the LSA runs somewhere around PR of 1.6. Livernois is running PR over 2. It looks like there's room for more boost, but the temperature rise gets pretty severe at that point.

At this point its nothing but speculation to say it only made 15psi of boost. Could have been 25 for all we know. And yes this 1.9L blower has made over 20psi in CTS-V's and ZR1's with no issue. You keep making reference to the 'tiny little blower' which doesn't make sense because a blower of ANY size whether large or small means nothing unless the fuel system and tune can keep up with the additional air. I guess its safe to say that the 'tiny little blower', no matter what the boost was, is able to keep up with the existing fuel system with the fuel tables tuned on "murder" to put the car into the 9's at 142mph. Either a blower can produce enough air to burn the additional fuel or it cant. This one proved that it can so it doesn't look like a larger blower is needed with the existing fuel system that's on the car if you want to make roughly 900+hp at the crank. So yes...you HAVE heard of a car trapping 142mph with a 1.9L blower. You just refuse to believe it and have it stuck in your head that it could only possibly produce 15psi, which has been proven otherwise for several years.

For the record...the 1.9L blower used in the CTS-V, ZR1 and ZL1 uses a 4-lobe 160* design which is far more thermally efficient than conventional blowers and has almost the same power efficiency as a turbo. It dumps 2.3L of compressed air every revolution. Its not exactly a slouch for a 'tiny blower'.
WOW!!! Well it looks like my "assumption" was pretty spot on!!! Its making AROUND 16lbs (could be 15.6-16.2) and i said 15. Damn im good.

You said "Could have been 25 for all we know. And yes this 1.9L blower has made over 20psi in CTS-V's and ZR1's with no issue."

You do realize the LSA and LS9 use DIFFERENT sized blowers dont you??
LSA=1.9L
LS9=2.3L

I DARE you to show me ONE ctsv making 25lbs of boost with the stock blower! I'll be waiting.

Thanks for the clarification Rick. Quick question. Since ive just learned that you can spin the 1.9L blower on the lsa to 20lbs, no wait 25lbs. Why are yall holding back?? All you gotta do is throw some larger fuel pumps/injectors in there and spin the 1.9L blower to 25lbs and make OVER 1000rwhp!!! Who needs procharger,whipple,kenne bell, or even a turbo when you have 1.9L roots?!!!

Im gonna go inform Tony Schumacher to take off that big goofy expensive blower and order this blower from GM and save a ton of cash. All he has to do is make sure the 1.9L has enough nitro going to it! LMAO

As I stated earlier, this is a common package for CTS-V's and we hope it is for ZL1 owners as well. We have several SS's in the shop now spending much more on a build then we have in this car. Some people have more in mods than the car costs new, but it's thier hobby and passion and they can spend their hard earned money however they want.
