Oh yes, why push it. Many like to go the speed limit +5-6mph. I prefer the speed limit minus 5.

i wouldn't encourage this thread...the fastest i've ever gone was probably 90 and it was just to try it out ...

i like my life too much and don't want my face crushed the most rush i'll get is passing people on the highway for a quick spurt and then going back to normal speed...

you want speed go on a track don't risk the lives of others

Back in ye olden days, I drove a '72 LaMans 145mph with all my boy scout friends inside. I was 16 and stupid. Before any seat belt laws so everyone was bouncing around. One kid cried.

140 mph in a 1970 Camaro. Could have been ugly as a car pulled off the shoulder in front of me and when I hit the brakes...brake fade!

The car in front of me saw that I was coming way too fast and moved back onto the shoulder.

I was 17 or 18 at the time. I'm 50 now and would never do that again. When you get old, you seem to get some sort of appreciation for life. Or realize you're mortal. The chance of something going wrong, no matter how good a driver you are, or think you are, is just too probable.

I hit 115 in my 1994 25th anniv Trans Am convertible (one of 250 built) on I-20 west of Jackson Ms, passing a dump truck that was losing sand off its back end. With the top down, it was cool. It felt like the car was just getting started, but I had a mortgage then and four kids at home. I sold that car for $12k in 2002..... stupid....
