I was lucky enough to be at the private unvailing of the concept Camaro in Detroit in January of 2006. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have one if they built it. They did build it and I have one. This is my 6th Camaro. I've had
at least one of every generation. |

My babysitter had a '92 RS. It was blue, and the first time I rode in it I remember telling her that I was going to have a car just like hers someday.
I've had a couple of IROC's since then... but this car really spoke to me for some reason, and still does to this day. When my Tahoe started falling apart last year and I knew I was going to have to deal with a car payment, I decided I might as well get exactly what I had always wanted... a blue R/S...

I've come to the conclusion that this is my 1/3rd life crisis... ;-)
One night last year I became obsessed with the idea of getting another muscle car. (I had a Trans Am when I was 17) I was up until probably 3am talking to a friend about cars on Facebook. I was 100% convinced (at that time) I'd convince my wife to let me get this car. I left her a note in her purse to discover in the morning. (see attachment) She wasn't happy when she saw it. This would be the 4th vehicle for me in under 4 years. First the bike, then a Passat, then a GTI. Needless to say, I eventually convinced her I needed to do this. ![]() The stars aligned and I was able to get out of my lease by selling my GTI to Carmax. Made about 1000 bucks selling it to them in the process. ![]() The night I sold my car, we went to our favorite chinese restaurant for dinner. My fortune confirmed I was making the right decision. (see attachment) A few weeks later my special ordered Camaro came in... beaten up from a chain hitting it on the truck in transport. Lucky for me, my wife found the exact same car a few hundred miles away. After negotiating the same deal with this dealership, we picked up our son from school, hauled ass out there and picked it up. Didn't get home until around 130am, but it was worth it...

I got that same fortune the day I bought mine! Crazy - it's laminated on my window sticker.

My aunt had a new '88 Camaro when I was in elementary school and I knew I wanted one. When I was in high school, a used car guy a few blocks from my folks was selling an '87 Jamaica Yellow Camaro and I ended up buying it. It eventually needed paint, so I put a cowl induction on it and I had it painted that "Chrome Yellow" which was super bright and actually a Ford Mustang/Ranger color. I was always "the guy with the yellow Camaro" even years after I stopped driving it. Everyone at my high school, my town, my girlfriends town, etc knew the car.
When it got kind of beat I had a '92 Firebird, and later a sweet '01 Z28. The Z28 got clipped from behind on the highway and sent me into a gaurdrail in 2008, and they were too old to justify getting another...so I got a GTO for a while. Part of me actually kind of hated it because of how bland it was, and the serious tire wear issues I was plagued with. When the Transformers movie came out I couldn't believe that a yellow Camaro was all of a sudden a cult sensation. When I started seeing them on the road it was like a party I wasn't invited to. The rest is history... |

Camaro's have been in my families' blood since their conception. Someone in our history has always owned one and now it's my turn!
My dad has had 2 in his lifetime and my uncle still owns his '69 Camaro. Needless to say since I pretty much have had memories I have wanted a Camaro. When I turned 16 and was looking for a car I wanted nothing more than a Camaro. Unfortunately this was 2005 and the Camaro was out of production :( , looked into getting a used 4th gen or 3rd gen. Dearly nothing around me was in decent enough condition that I felt good in buying it. My dad ended up selling me his '95 Monte Carlo Z34 Fun car! Fast-forward 2 years later and I decide I want to upgrade with something newer due to the drive to college is taking a beating on the Monte. End up buying brand new a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT, have had that now for close to 6 years and I still love that car.Anyway back to the Camaro through both these car owning's still something was missing for me and at the release of the news that the Camaro is going to be put back into production for 2010, I pretty much was ecstatic and it became my dream car to own. As a lowly college student for 2009 and 2010 production years it just didn't seem true that I would get my dream. Then summer of 2010 I took a job leading in my career path that paid very well 2 years later on March 10th, 2012 I went looking at Camaros with very little intentions of buying... Deal popped up and bought her on the spot! SOOOOO HAPPY!!! Definitely one of the best decision I have made!

Had a 2008 Trailblazer SS, going through a divorce w/ soon to be ex's name on title. Always loved my Trans Ams, felt lackluster about Camaros until the new one came out. I was on the fence after renting a couple Mustangs and Challengers, test driving some automatic Camaros and finally got the bug enough to look seriously at them all, even with not the greatest credit from the divorce.
Fast forward two months after paying some bills off and securing 2.9% through my bank, and finding an Inferno Orange M6 w/sun roof for a good price and very low miles. On my way to go buy it (if it had a clean bill of course), I stop at "dealership row" in Slidell and proceed to check every dealership for a used M6 SS that may have not been advertised online. I find my way to the Chevy dealership where I am greeted by a guy while walking through the Camaro section, tell him what I am looking for, and he says he really can't help me find that, but asks what I think about this loaded out Rally Yellow M6 RS/2SS 'vert. I told him to eff off and it's not funny playing with a man's emotions. He told me he is the inventory manager and it is a 2011, been on the lot since it was ordered and he was stuck with it as the original guy backed out on the deal. He made magic happen at 0% interest, a hefty discount, and here I am. I couldn't be more happy with my car unless it came with a supercharger.

My love affair started at 2 years old. My Aunt bought a brand new 1978 Camaro not sure what model. It was black with orange and red stripes on the hood. How I remember that is beyond me. Every time I seen her she had to take me for a ride. Fast forward in 2000 I bought my first Camaro it was a 1996 RS with t-tops. It needed paint and a lot of mechanical work.
I fixed it up and ended up selling it a few years later. Then they decided not to make the Camaro anymore . I seen pictures of the new Camaro in a few magazines and on T.V. in early 2009. Told my wife I want one. She says you just bought a $40,000 Nissan Titan. We will be so upside down the payments would be $800 a month. I agreed never giving up. In January of 2010 my father died. No life insuarence nothing but some tools and a 72 Chevy C10 longbed. Me and my sister with the help of my Aunts scraped enough money up to take care of it. Took the truck home and thought how nice it would be to fix it up and make it like he would have. May of 2010 the flood hits here in Nasville. House gets finished basement gets flooded $32,000 worth of damage. We got no handouts from the government. This had been the worst 6months of my life. I sell my 2009 Honda VTX 1300 and my dads truck to put the house back together with the help if my neighbor. My neighbor kept me sane during this time saying it would be okay. He would help me fix everything. June comes around. We headed to my sisters house. We left my house early so we had some time to kill. Just like always I say lets stop at the Chevy Dealership and look at the Camaros. I thought I could not afford one and figured it would not hert to look and dream. I walk through the lot and out of the corner of my eye I see it. It is BEAUTIFUL 2010 2ss SIM M6. I think I can't get it but look at it anyways. It is used 17,000 miles on it. Loked well taken care of. A salesman comes up and says want to take it for a test drive. I decline saying I was just looking and that I would be to upside down to trade. He says maybe not lets look at some numbers and see. I say I guess. Nto expecting much. He looks at my truck and asks the payoff. I tell him he says I think we make a deal. I think yeah right with 800 dollar car note.He proceeds to tell me me that T.D. Financial is running a special 1.9 intrest on qualifing vehicles. Needlees to say I pulled up at my sisters house in a beautiful used Camaro. It is also certified so I got 2 years extended warranty and oil changes. Now my Aunt always asks me to go for a ride. A special thanks to my wife who never waivered once during this time |
