Don't worry, I NEVER use the washes with brushes... just not sure about the pressure spray on the top....
Congratulations on the new Camaro! You wife will surely love it, especially on beautiful summer days! On page 10-89 in the 2012 Camaro Owner's manual it states:

Convertible Top care
Avoid automatic car washes with overhead brushes or very high pressure sprays as they can cause damage and leaking.

I hope this information was helpful!

For anyone interested.
big camaro show in fort erie, ontario canada this weekend.
Fbodfather (whom most of you know)and mike judge(from Gm oshawa) are supposed to be attending on Saturday.
visit www.ccfbg.com for more info.

also, there is the Gm show at the GM engine plant on friday august 10th.located in st.catharines, ontario.
I am planning on attending this one and will ask every GM employee I see and hopefully some higher ups will be in attendance so I can put some heat on, right at the show.I know it is the wrong department but hopefully some of that will filter down to head office.

Honestly, I stopped using my cover 99% of the time and my few marks that I still get are now less noticeable.

Get whatever you can on video and be sure to post it up on Youtube for us all to see. Once you do that, I am going to download it and save for future reference.

If I lived within 500 miles I"d be there with a big LEMON COLORED sign. Ugh.

Like birdible we have also jumped in head first into a new Camaro vert. So much paranoia that something is going to go catastrophically wrong with it that it hampers the joy we should be feeling for owning a brand new $43K car. Just ain't right. Ain't right.

Agreed.I also have experienced the 5th bow disease. It has since been repaired, but I keep thinking everytime I put the roof down that it is going to break again.
no one could tell me if the replacement parts are better quality than the original pos.
the service manager at my dealership did state that he suspects that some other brackets are getting caught where they should not and therefore this is what is causing the 5th bows to bend or break.

Sure! they're blaming it on stuff YOU the owner are putting in YOUR trunk. They're blaming it on YOUR misuse of your top. It can't POSSIBLY be substandard parts or mechanisms (bows, water management, etc), right????

At least that's the story that i've heard at our dealership. Convenient to lay the blame other than where it should be. These tops aren't RIGHT.

Hijack away. We are all brothers and sisters with cars we love with substandard tops. Yes, some people got lucky, others are clueless, and some like me are way to informed about what is going on. Then again, knowledge is power.

Jason, I think your dealer is a bobblehead.

They shake their head everytime time they see you pull in..."OH NO, Not him again!!!"
