Agreed.

Here is mine on the worst corner. I won't be touching mine but will keep an eye on it. It is a good place for grime to get into and eat away to the metal. The OP's looks much worse IMO.

^^ Not criticising, just wondering - if it is a '12 and under bumper to bumper, why not take it back now and have it fixed correctly?

No problem. I figure I have a lot of time yet before warranty runs out. I just cringe at the fact of having body work done. I've been there and done that in the past and have never been 100% satisfied with the outcomes. My luck they would make this go away and I would find something else wrong.

Remember the 2010s had the sections above the headlights that they missed painting.

You can't get a decent paintjob these days.

Factory corrosion warranty is for rust perforation. Not surface rust. Looks like the shop is repairing for goodwill. You probably didn't barge into the SM office and demand they fix it right? As for a loaner the dealer again, he doesn't owe you a loaner. I find it interesting that so many people DEMAND a dealer do this or that. My experience is if you treat the dealership people with respect they will treat you with respect. I would also have the check and make sure the deck lid isn't rubbing on an adjacent panel. Good luck and remember you get more bees with honey then you do with vinegar

This is not a GM issue from what I can tell. It's an RS so it came with a low spoiler, and now has a high spoiler, which means the trunk lid had to have body work to fill in the holes from the factory. Then the trunk would have to be repainted. This is paint buildup as stated by others, and is a case for whatever body shop did the work.
