245s on the front. 275s at the rear - I'd say that was adaquate and pretty much normal for cars like this today.

Wow Camero, The Dies haven't been cut yet? What is the usual lead time between when the dies are cut and installed and production starting? Obvioulsly I'm not in the industry so I'm just asking, but I would have thought with less than a year to go, actually more like 8 mos or so, they would have to be done by now. Also, as far as the headlights, I don't see why GM would want them to me on now, but they're not ready either? I'm all for "just in time" delivery of parts to the plant, but some of this seems like it's cutting things pretty close. Again, not a critisism, just asking. I always thought I was pretty informed about things, but I've learned more about what goes on in the development of new cars as the Camaro progresses than ever. Thank you to all of you!

Which ones? I don't see a dang thing in the way of Orange peel paint...and it's certainly not on my Cobalt...not that I can tell, at least - and I have cleaned the darn thing at least 5 times already...

I do. I think they came 90% close to the concept's headlamps. I also think they're taking forever to make. And even if they've been made already - all these test cars have filler lights anyways. Why change them out now? If I was head of the project - I'd make sure they stayed in a hidden vault somewhere until the unveil. Just to keep something as a surprise to us all.

I was about to ask about those taillights...I sorta figured they were placeholders...but - Ya' never know. I'm just not diggin' that snake-eye like slit of light. Glad they're not the real deal.
You might want to re-read the reply as I don't see where he said the tail-lights were placeholders. I also think the "slits" you see are a flash from the camera. The lights need detailing, but I think those are the lenses. Note the, for lack of a better word, roundness, in the lense itself.

Here, for reference again...

Yeah there are a bunch of us. I mean I don't even have a steady job right now, haven't worked for three weeks. I'm struggling to survive and have very little saved for the Camaro. Ideally things will ge better and I can start my education as film director this fall, get some work after the two years of education and pretty quickly afford a Camaro, but there's no reason right now why things should go that good and I could get both my dream job and dream car. So at the moment I'm just hoping I get a job so I can at least get the car in a few years time. But I'm sure as hell going on a test drive in one next year.

I think the angle and lens used on that pic makes the rear end look longer and more flat than it really is.

I PM'd Camero about this and while the majority of things are final, there is still issues related to the manufacturing and assembling of parts. those things can't be found until you try them out in test batches. Also, they are going to have as little idle time as possible. When they have everything set up and ready to go, they will. Until then, they want to make sure that things are right

Man I can't wait to get the convertable and I'm going to have it match the colors on my Harley. I'm so excited I think I just wet myself. Don't know if I should go silver with black stripes or black with silver stripes decisions decisions.

Words just can't properly discribe this car, I love it. Now that we know the outsides ture to form, I'd really like to see how the insides are coming along. Now I'd thought I'd seen some place that they were going for smaller tires on the production, has that changed? (not a complaint) I see on one of these pic's she's running 20's. Damn, I can't wait to see this setting in my driveway.

A Big +1

I've learned a ton about how much T and E goes into a new car from this site. I'm a project manager for software and when I start a new project I get a little woozy when I look at a project from start to finish. And, I deal with known quantities. I have my requirements up front and engineer to those. So I know if I hit the mark, on time and under budget, the customer will be happy. GM doesn't have that luxury. They won't know the customer is happy until it sells. And the complexity of what is envolved from begining to end has to be overwhelming. Talk about stone cold nerves of steel. Imagine being a PM for the Camaro and knowing at this point the dies aren't even done, let alone QA'd and the head lights aren't ready for on the road testing either, and the car is 8 months AWAY!?!?! It must be like standing on the ede of the Crand Canyon.

I'd love to work in that evironment, literally they have to find a way to get it done. Kudos, to all of you at GM!

Damn expensive to replace the tires as you can't rotate them. I hope it has same size tires all the way around for the V8 version.

Driving a car like this is a perk. It's like having a Corvette, if you can't afford the maintenance, you can't afford the car

More great photos! It's unbelievable how beautiful this car is coming out. It's frustrating, however, to continue reading posts from people who keep forgetting these are prototypes and keep bringing up concerns that have already been address (i.e. headlights not being final yet...) For Heavens sake!!! Complaints about orange peek and such for a prototype and such seem so petty; if I were Scott or Camero I think I could find myself discouraged in continuing reading posts like this because, IMHO, it just seems like meaningless b*tching (please forgive me.) IT'S A PROTOTYPE!!! Back off; Christ.

I'm sorry for the little rant, it just seems like in the enthusiasm of this car, some people are just nitpicking the sheet out of this car. It's not done yet, so let the people in charge friggin' finish it and support them. This constant inundation of complaints and critisism would be enough for me not to offer information as Father and Camero continue to try to do. Give 'em a brake, enjoy the d@mn pictures, thank the community members for finding these images, and relax. IT'S A PROTOTYPE!

Sorry...
