The car looks good. The front end is growing on me. My only complaint is that the back end looks weird as all get out when you are looking at it straight on. Something is not right. The back looks good from an angle though to me. Maybe its the color.

Also, anyone else thinking GM may have something big planned for the Camaro's headlights? Why have we still not seen the production headlights? It can't be that hard to make lenses/housings. Ah well, maybe it's wishful thinking. I really want unforgettable headlights. The rest of the car deserves more than regular round head lamps.
Considering that half of the dies haven't even been cut yet it's probably a little early to judge the paint job! Or the lights! For some reason headlights and tail lights seem like the cheapest, easiest part of a car to make but it's quite the opposite. They'd love to test them along with the rest of the car but they won't be ready for a long time.... those fake generic blanks are not in the test cars for the purpose of hiding the real ones.... it's just a nice side effect!

P.S. I told you that it looks hot in black!

Testing. Air pressure or air flow, maybe?

Which ones? I don't see a dang thing in the way of Orange peel paint...and it's certainly not on my Cobalt...not that I can tell, at least - and I have cleaned the darn thing at least 5 times already...

I do. I think they came 90% close to the concept's headlamps. I also think they're taking forever to make. And even if they've been made already - all these test cars have filler lights anyways. Why change them out now? If I was head of the project - I'd make sure they stayed in a hidden vault somewhere until the unveil. Just to keep something as a surprise to us all.

I was about to ask about those taillights...I sorta figured they were placeholders...but - Ya' never know. I'm just not diggin' that snake-eye like slit of light. Glad they're not the real deal.

so camero (or scott, whoever wants to answer) - without giving away any secrets - how much of the sheetmetal might change in appearance (percentage wise..e.g. 20%, 30%, 0%) and how much of the parts/equipment (non-metal items like the urethane and spoiler / headlights / taillights, etc) might change in appearance (again, percentage wise) - before we actually see a production car?

just curious...thx.

I think that the brake lights looked good but could look better so its good to hear that they, like the headlights, are just fillers. I'm glad they have the metal detail around them. It reallly makes them stand out. LOOKS GREAT. GOOD JOB GM!

If you look in the below pic, the orange peel is highly evident...look at the reflections of the other cars in the paint, and you can see how rough they are. I'm not too concerned because, as it's been said, this is prepro. The prototype car seems to have a lot of little nicks and scratches here and there, so I imagine it's not been given every coat of paint and clear coat that the final product would be given...probably just some equivalent of a quick Earl Scheib job.

Right. I see it now. Thanks!

Honestly...these being Pre-pro and all - it wouldn't phase me to find out that the body panels were just from-a-can spray painted.

Good guess. That got me thinking Pitot tubes. It's an aviation system that uses an air pressure differential which is used in calculating different readings on different gauges: airspeed, vertical airspeed, decent rate, altitude etc. But when I think about it that doesn't really make sense. Because if the car was standing still with a five mile an hour head wind. The pitot system would report 5 mph... Seems like this would be inaccurate when compared to actual ground speed... Maybe it's something simple like a temp sensor. Or it checks humidity, since that's why they brought it to Florida. Ah I don't know. Wasted post.:(

Pitot system.

The image of the full on rear view looks extremely odd for some reason.

But I think the addition of a spoiler will remedy that. It just seems WAY too flat/straight across the top.

This image, on the other hand-

Nearly made me drool. I LOVE that they kept the pointed 'Bird of Prey' front point so perfectly pronounced.

Speaking of all this orange peel people, I do admit that I kind of like it for some odd reason, it seems to give a rougher edged texture or some sort of effect like metal flake, even if it is because of a crappy paint job. Any words from the person that got the pics: how does the vehicle look size wise? Like is it long or, what would you compare it to in length, I dont care about width because it looks so damn mean when its wide haha!

Ok, can someone explain what in the world 'orange peel' is?? I've never heard of it before today.
