Are you running a 10 rib or something I don't recall.
I've had a 4500 9", 4800 8", and a 5500 8" stall and the only one that was too big (for me) on the street was the 5500. I even drove the 4800 on the highway. Got a pic of your belt setup?

It's a cog drive. Yeah I think we are going to end up around 4800 ish.....Coan doesn't seem to think they can loosen up this converter any more without going to a smaller non-lockup converter and I am not real interested in that. Talked to FTI today to see what options we might have and they seemed much more enthused about the project than Coan did so we might just sell the Coan and go FTI. The Coan is still a great converter, it's just not right for my application, which is admittedly a bit unusual.

I'll see if Ron has any experience with them....I know that normally he uses FTI and has a good relationship with them but it's worth asking. Either way I will have a nice 3500 stall Coan available very soon.

FTI is good too. I've just been really pleased with ptc's customer service and they are over in Alabama so they are pretty close. Unless less they are covered up right now they are very quick about getting stuff to you. To bad Neil chance doesn't make a 4l80 convertor they are in Atlanta and are known as the best but that comes with a price. Either way you would be good I would just throwing it out there incase fTI was backed up or something.

No like, never was a fan of the high bulging hoods many put on their street cars. Looks like a wart on the nose of an otherwise beautiful woman

![]() For converters, we run the PATC converters here for race or street. I'll be running a 4L60 lockup converter by them that is stalled at 3500. We have another 4L80 converter coming from them for a Camaro project now, that will be 3400rpm lockup. Overall, their converters feel very tight for street driving, but they hit the tire hard on the flash. All their flash speeds have been within a hundred RPM of estimated stall also. Nathan and the guys down there are a great bunch of guys. Last edited by Sales @ ECS; 06-07-2012 at 09:42 AM. |

I guess I should of clarified. The serpentine belts work great up to the F1R. We were also making 22-23psi on robs C5 procharged F1R with a 10rib. The F2 and F1X will require a cog or direct drive. We have tried up to the 12 rib setup on the F2 with the flipdrive kit on my C6 and only able to produce 10psi. That seemed to be were the compressed air pressure was enough to slip the belt. Chris |
