Chevy advertised them all drag limited
192
198
205

the LS2's were 186. Now that being said most have not take the cars that fast and the chevy ECM's do have a place for speed limiters.

You need to up your internet game as those numbers are all incorrect and all three have limiters that can be verified with a programmer/tuning software.

There is no active speed limiter of any sorts in the C6 Z06.
Depending on the year of Z06 the factory limiter was either 198mph or 205mph. Just like some base models had it at different speeds for different years and options.

your gear calulations are way off too. Z06 would go 227 or something in 5th.
I am fully aware of drag limited versus speed limited and lack of gearing isn't what limits the Z06. Just avoid the argument and quit using gear calculators and supposed factory top speed ratings.

And I heard and you can goggle this....aliens have been spotted outside the GM production center trying to abscond with some ZL1 powerplants for for intergalactic space travel.

Ferrari is not even looking at the Z06 and neither are the aliens so the ZL1 has to be better, right?

I honestly think you don't know what your talking about or own any of those cars. I have had a vett since 08 and have never heard of this speed limiter bs.

Don't think you can look at 30 seconds of a 7.5 minute video and come to a conclusion. Too many factors to consider. For example, we don't know how soon the driver was on full-throttle in either car, and may not have even been the same driver. Bottom line, the Z06 is probably 20 seconds faster around the track, and even if the ZL1 was faster to 170, the Z06 would pass it at 180 (speed limit ZL1) on its way top 198!

The z06 smoked it around the track, they aren't even in the same universe. Clearly the ZL1 is not getting to 170 faster
From the vids:
2012 Z06 120-170mph takes 7:04 to 7:35 or 31 seconds

2012 ZL1 120-170mph takes 7:03 to 7:33 or 30 seconds

Under race conditions going all out for 7+ min. the ZL1 out ran the Z06 to 170 mph!

It would be a lot easier to read your posts or try to comprehend what you are saying if your grammar even equaled that of my 8 year old. If you're going to get on an adult forum and argue, at least learn how to write first. Maybe see if Sesame Street has some forums so you can learn some simple English before you come on here and make yourself look even more stupid. Arguing and sounding like an idiot epitomizes red neck standards..

Ok you win, by a couple tenths. Just reiterating what I had heard, and after about a minute of searching apparently the info was wrong. I don't geek out over mags, so I didn't know this info myself. I apologize, thank you for setting me straight.

But back to the point of the thread, its SLOWER than a Z06.

The new Hot Rod Magazine has an article about the 2012 COPO Camaro followed by an article about the ZL1. It too pegs the top speed at 184 MPH. Gearz on Speed Channel has a road test of the ZL1 and they round their quote to 185 as top speed although it appears they are quoting their GM handlers and did not do it themselves.

I have read that the default speed limiter is set to 255, which means it's pretty much non-functional.

No it isn't, it is however one of the numbers listed three times now.
