Of course you may remember I did it with the car running AND in gear with the wheels spinning.

LOL I DO remember that! Remind me how the wheels are spinning though? Was something on the accelerator pedal?

Nope. I had to check the drive shaft for the noise before I swapped it out. It was just in drive and idling. I forgot that as soon as you put it in drive and the wheels turn the doors auto-lock.

Wink

this is exactly the reason I have a spare key just for unlocking my door in my wallet from what I have seen I know 5th gen Camaros at least have a driver's side keyhole in the door .

This is why I keep OnStar. I think their advertised prices are ridiculous, however.

So, I just call in and voice my opinion on the matter and since I've had the car (not including the 6 free months), I've gotten all my minutes extended and I have the top of the line directions package for $13 a month. A minimal fee for peace of mind, IMO.

1) You're right it does offer a lot more than GMPP. I am thinking about resubscribing.

But...

2) But no phone app for me regardless, because the app doesn't work with 2010s

3) I can get free towing for 100 miles of my location with GMPP

fyi, it is about $350 to replace a driver side window. So you want to weigh all other options before swinging a hammer, because cleaning glass that is embedded in everything can be a real pita.

But I also feel on star is the last route to go, way too many cheaper options available. Progressive is suppose to have the best road side assistance, even verizon wireless has a mediocre road side assistance that can be used for any car your phone is in(10 miles of towing is a joke, however).

PQ, you know this isn't the first time something has happened to me... nor will it be the last.

... I may just steal YOUR thunder
So then did the horn start blowing when the door was opened that way?

Should have just called OnStar right there, paid for 1 month, and had them unlock the doors. But yeah, I understand your point - you paid for the extended warranty and you figured it should cover that.

Yeah I know when I signed back up for OnStar after mine ran out they actually gave me the first 3 months free. Then you can call and cancel and they will give you 3 more free months lol.

Powertrain is 5yr/100k......almost everything else is 3/36,although there are exceptions (IE-certain emissions items are 8/80)

Exactly, and I even sell "dummy" mechanical keys that will only open the door for $8

That's what I was going to say. Only issue would have been having to wait a couple of days to get it.
