![]() OP think of all the money you saved doing changes yourself, buy the new part and you are still ahead. Strap wrench is the way to go if you can fit it, you want to be careful about any bits of metal dropping in if you start shoving a wrench in that hole and twisting. |

Forgive me. I know this is going to sound very stupid. What the heck is a upper oil filter housing. Never owned a V6 camaro. Do they have more than a filter, pan and drain plug on bottom and a fill cap and dip stick on top. Everybody laugh
now!!!

alyssasdad......the v6's oil filter is up high.....the top of it is about level with the engine cover on the drivers side, its the only one they have. its a carthridge that goes into the housing....the V6 doesn't have a spin on filter......as you see in in the pictures at the begining of the thread.
