I've had this conversation with a drag racer by trade and if your reaction time and you know how to drag, he said that he can beat a modded V-8 in a stock V-6. (but like I said he does it for a living). But if you sit there and spin your tires for the first second and a half he'll blow your doors off no matter how much horsepower you have under the hood.

saw zr1 1/4 was fixed, think record is a 10.66 1/4 mile for the zr1 last i saw stock. and everyone is right, you have the power. a couple of suspension parts will help plants that power to the ground and avoid wheel hop. then you are going to need drag radials, the invos just aren't enough for that power. maybe keep your rims and tires for every day and then by a set of track tires to keep your power planted. and then yes you will roast a zr1. i remember reading quite a few stories where axles had snapped from wheel hop n other parts breaking with high power launches, which is why suspension mods will help you from breaking stuff

Beef up that rear end or kiss it goodbye if you hard launch 800rwhp on a stock rear.

Talk to the high hp guys in the drag section. Camarovigoa has a very similar build and just recently ran 9.9 with a whipple blown 419. Although he also has a full drag susoension, cage, fully converted rear ect...

Drag radials are going to make your life so much easier at the track. With that amount of power and performance goals you're going to need some suspension work, but traction and 60" time is going to be your biggest issue (aside from breaking things...)
Drag Radials, some suspension work, and great driving and you've definitely got the power to give the ZR1 a run for it's money. |

So, here's the real deal. By the time you spend all the money it takes to beat a ZR1, you could have bought a ZR1!

The car was 40k when I bought it….. Between the engine all its mods and labor it will come close to 80k….. Still not 113K IF I paid for it flat out, with interest closer to 123K. Plus every old man in my town drives a corvette. Maybe it’s me, but a car that is typically slower, beating a super car, is worth it.
