Well done Tim.
Would you give us some detail regarding your techniques for getting the auto car off the starting line and down the track. Several ideas have been noted in earlier threads here, but I'm wondering what you did.
You mentioned that you used the paddle shifter on occasion. Dd that get you a better ET, or did letting the auto "think" for itself prove better?

That's why I think dyno are for two things.=
Bragging rights and tuning.
You're right...a dyno is a tool for a tuner to see what the end result is of the changes he made. As long as the tuner stays with the same dyno throughout a project build then he has a known constant to reference progress with. It gives a nice baseline idea of how the car should perform but that will change with atmospheric conditions and driver skill. But for the end user its nothing more than a bragging right.
With that 6 speed stick you should have expected a good run. Didn't have much in regards to torque management back then.

The power to weight ratio of a Z06 is around 6.3 . 601 rwhp is roughly 680 flywheel wich is around 6.1 so I would say 11.8 122 is right on! (with what most mags get out of a stock Z06) Nice job!

Did you launch in "M" and not use the paddles? If you launched in "D", you were starting in 2nd gear. "M" starts in 1st and an S appears on the dash beside the odometer to indicate sport mode.

122mph trap speed isn't slow by any means, just taking 600rwhp isn't right. Maybe he had three adult passengers when he made that pass? That would make sense then.
I've scratched my head over this whole mph thing too. I made 410 to the wheels on a dyno jet. I am an LS3. I have LT catted headers, CAI, and tune. My mph was 115.2X. How is it that some of these ZL1's that are being tested with much more rwhp are running just about the same trap speed and making nearly 100 more rwhp than me? I know I am a little lighter, but...

A 5th gen weighs about 600 lbs so theoretically it should need about 470-480 ish to trap 122. So really you should be trapping 130+. Unless you were running uphill with a modest headwind.
He said it was real hot....

Placing the shifter in "M" does not put you in first gear. You still have to manually paddle down into first or else you're still starting in 2nd gear. The only time the 6L90 starts in 1st is when you initially start the car and place it in "D" and drive off. After you come to a stop the first time it only downshifts into 2nd and continues doing that as you drive. Manual mode still functions just like an automatic in "D" until you use the paddles. So when you select "M" the tranny still operates just like its in "D" but with the "sport" shift patterns. Once you use either one of the paddles then it selects the full "manual" mode. But to get into 1st gear you have to manually select it with the paddles.

if you think about this logically that GT500 on Drag radials that smashed the stock ZL1 ran 11.8 on DR on that hot evening.

people would like temps and track conditions to be perfect every time but in reality they are not. you car does not run the exact same times every trip out.

on a cool day with better conditions that time could drop by .5 seconds.

I also feel with all the electronics and modes on this car gettting the recipe right may be hard some.

dont get hung up on trap speed. Ive ran 12.5x's all day at different trap speeds and nearly the same 60 foot each time. I ran a 12.2x at 115. the trap does not mean all that much to me.
