I like selling products that I know will impress my customer so that they come back to me for their next upgrade. My statement that the CAI system produces close to double the gains is spot on and reflects not only what I have seen in my own experience but also what the Jannetty tests you mentioned have demonstrated. Since you brought up his test specifically and I mentioned average HP and peak torque, lets look at those numbers. Cold Air Inductions average HP: 4.4 (w/ scoop: 13.8) peak TQ: 10.4 (w/scoop: 13) Airaid average HP: 2.3 peak TQ: 5.9 Concerning appearance, fit & finish, and the warranty I could not agree more. |

I don't believe you "have" to, but it would be senseless not to since it opens up so much more volume in the air box and cuts down on the restriction of airflow. I am sure Chase from Apex will chime in on this one as he sells the items you are talking about.

![]() The CAI is a very nice looking system and performs excellent. It utilizes a mandrel bent aluminum tube that is ceramic coated or powder coated black, an air box with a lid which looks excellent and a washable reusable filter. The components in the CAI kit are nice and the installation is straight forward. I've seen gains of 12-15 RWHP with this system on our dyno on an otherwise stock Camaro SS. ![]() The bottom line is at the end of the day these are both excellent systems and it comes down to what you're looking for in an intake system. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have with real world hands on experience with both systems. ![]() Kind regards, Jordan Priestley 888.308.6007 |
