The result is a Camaro Convertible that keeps acceleration, handling and other performance capabilities very close to that of the Camaro Coupe.
“To compensate for the reduced structure of an open car, engineers often will make the suspension softer, making the convertible a boulevard cruiser,” said Oppenheiser. “Instead, we took the more difficult, but better path of bolstering structure rather than softening the suspension. We didn’t change a strut, bushing or spring rate from the Camaro coupe.”

All that said I don't think the FE3 to FE4 upgrades would "wow" anyone like a properly dialed in Pedders, Pfadt etc. setup.

Makes sense, as I didnt look till 2012 I did not notiuce the earlier models suspension.....

I looked into this and it's for low ET cars. What are you aiming for?

PS, just spend the coin and get custom. Better clearance, better appearance, and it's your life we are talking about...

I'm gonna get a 5 point weld in roll bar eventually. I will probably make my own and weld it in myself like i did my last car.

This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 960x720.

What's funny is that if you are completely stock then you don't need a roll bar until 11.49. If you are modded you "technically" need one at 13.99 .

My local track will probably not hassle with me until I am deep into the 11s. My goal with Ginger is to be comfortably in the 10s.

I've been kicked off two tracks, so the bar is high on my list. However it is my understanding that the rear bar can be removable until low 10s.

Sticking point is a custom lightweight bar is $2400 with hydro/paint/powder coating.

To be NHRA/IHRA legal you can not have a removable cross bar. Maybe you are thinking about removable door bars, those are legal.

You should be able to get it a lot cheaper than that if you go to a chassis shop. I'm guessing $1,500. I'm gonna do my own so I'm probably gonna spend about $700.

Thanks guys. I have talked to a couple venders and am talking to a local guy about custom.

I dont normally go down the drag strip but for safety the bar would be good. Mostly I do auto cross but have recently not been able to do some of the road course events because of no bar.

I need to check into if have the removable back bar will it be a problem.
