I think that is a good idea. Regret is a b1tch! The Camaro is just a cool and very unique car.

Which car depends on needs

I always have a 4WD SUV (current is 07 Envoy) for skiing, fly fishing, long road trips etc. Then I have a second car that is appropriate for my other needs. For the past few years I have always had a four door as I was taking my mother and mother in law to doctor appts, occasional dinner out, etc. and the Envoy was too high for them to get into.
Unfortunatly, last year, they both passed away. Mother 96, MIL 92. However sad the loss, it did put me in a new position where a Camaro is not out of the question. If my wife and I are taking another couple somewhere or going on an off road trip we'll use the Envoy (Best GM car I have ever owned, btw), if not we'll have the Camaro for a cigarette fetcher and a dinner and a movie car.
If I had a 16 month old, I'd go for the Caddy. Very sweet car.

CTS-V is a nice car man, especially for 25K--I'd take it. It really just depends on personal preference as far as im concered.

EDIT: NM, just realized its an 07 I thought it was an 09. Don't do it...

the thing is you start getting a family and all and you have to start thinking with the other head per say. But most parents make that mistake once when having a young family whether it be a car or lifestyle or something. Camaro does not equal baby car or family car.

That's funny I raised 2 children in a 95 Z28 with little to no problem. They also went to the track with me and to gatherings.

I owned a first gen Firebird and I can tell you that getting a child into/out of a carseat would have bean a bear. My wife and I are getting this car because it reminds us a lot of that car. I don't think this one will be any better. If you are looking for a good family car this may not be it, but if you are willing to make the sacrifice for your own happiness then have at it... there are plenty of good sport coupes out there, even if you have to ( god forbid ) buy foriegn. I try to buy American as much as I can, but they don't always come through, in fact I've only owned one foriegn vehicle...and I wasn't struck by lightning or anything, it was actually a pretty good truck. Not my favorite, but it lasted.

I would say the Camaro back seat is about the same as the GTO. I had an 04 GTO when my daughter was 5-7 years old. She was able to climb into the back and belt herself into her seat. Because of that it was very easy to own the GTO with a small kid. If she was unable to buckle herself then it would have been tough.

As far as putting a kid in the front seat, please do not do that, it is far too dangerous. If you think you will be adding kids to your life then go with the CTS-V or a G8. If not I would consider staying with the Camaro.

That will make some person happy later, when they go to a lot and find a brand new camaro that is unclaimed.

My thought is that, if you actually considered this, you weren't serious about wanting a camaro in the first place. Good luck.

Soooo true.

My boys are 5 and 9. The 5yo will be raised in the backseat. My 9yo will be up front with me when the wife is not riding along. They are as excited as I am about it. I can't wait to plant them to the back of their seats a couple of times. Once they feel those g's, they'll be hooked for life just like I was.

We have a Nascar truck race in June and a Nationwide series race in October that I am taking them to. We will all be arriving there in style.

I am in the same boat, but looking at the STS-V. They are sweet and I can get my 2 kids in and out easily. I love the Camaro, but it is not practical in my situation. We are trying to get in a 07 STS-V for around $32000. It weighs more than a Camaro for sure, but it does have 469 HP. Gas mileage will not be as good. Insurance is about the same. Too each their own. Maybe I'll trade for a Camaro after the kids are out of car seats. :(

This is a tough one, but not easy for me to give perfect advice since I have a 2SS preorder and my wife already drives an 09 3.6 CTS. If you drive one, you will be hooked. But I have raised 3 kids and can tell you I have been in the same boat. Had to sell my BMW 330i because hauling two small kids and constantly worrying about the typical sour milk spots was a bear. Swapped it for the 05 Tahoe. Now they are moving up and out so the Camaro is mom and dad's treat. You will not be happy with the Camaro as your baby hauler. If you can afford it, keep the preorder and get a solid $5000 daily driver. If not just stick with the solid daily driver. Your day will come. I promise!
