With out a doubt should be held at Rt 66 Racepark near Joliet IL/Chicagoland
its centrally located, has road course and auto cross areas, and a full nascar
track and the fastest drag strip in the world. Lots of top notch lodging near by. Modern first class place !

Not that we're against it... But, we typically aren't big enough for tracks like that.

Closest we tried is Vegas and it didn't work out.

But that's pretty much exactly where C5 fest 3 is..

One of the many issues with a fest location has to be track availability. C5 isn't the only car club in the country that wants to have events during spring/summer/fall. The cost of the "popular" locations/tracks has to be pretty high since everybody naturally wants to be there with their event.

A possible location to consider for a west coast track is Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. It's a relatively new Nascar grade facility that has amazing amounts of parking with great autocross, road course and drag strip tracks. It's about 10 minutes easy freeway access from Ontario International Airport so there's tons of hotels all around.

From the track location you're within an hour of the beach, mountain resorts, Disneyland and other amusement parks so there are additional things to do as well as a fest for people traveling a long distance that want to maximize their vacation time.

Another interesting thing is Nascar has removed one of their yearly events, so the track only has one a year instead of two. This opens a big hole in their yearly schedule and might make them more interested in working with smaller events.

It might make more sense to just pick two locations; one eastern, one western and alternate between the two year to year. That way you could commit to scheduling farther out and probably get better rates for everything.

I hope everyone at this year's fest is having fun. And hopefully they'll be more diligent about posting pictures!!! The attendees at last year's fest did a MUCH BETTER JOB.... hint hint

Try Vegas again, or other places in NV, such as Sprint Mountain Motorsports in Pahrump, 40ish miles W-SW of Vegas:

Uh.. Dude? Indiana and Maryland are both in the North.. And in the East.. You may consider Idiana to be central, but it's leaning more to the east in my book.

If its North of the top of the Texas panhandle, it's "North".

Indiana is North and East, or Northeast.
