Fest was alright. IMO didnt hold a candle to Valdosta. Maybe because it was still new then. Who knows. Most of the cars I saw were ugly. People have taken it WAY TOO FAR to be "original".

Sometimes you have to take a step back and say WTF did I do? I went WAY too far.

I missed my car this weekend. Not at fest but during the drive up. I ride shotgun in Cybil but it wasn't the same. Not that my car would have been anything special there. It had all the factory lighting and only had performance mods. How boring.

Having been to the Valdosta event also, I would agree. I think the biggest difference at the track location was that it was strung out over two days. If it is just one day, everybody will be there. This past weekend it was obvious people were doing other things, like sleeping in. In Valdosta, Everybody went to the track and lined up when the gate opened. It had a much more festive feel and excitement.

The pre-reg. thread had at least 150 people or more that said they wanted to drag race, but on Friday I bet there were no more than 15 cars staging at any time. In the afternoon I only saw two or three test and tuning. That's why I jumped in my car to get that "last run".
Lingenfelter had at least 60 say they were going attend their clinic on Friday morning. Maybe twenty showed up, after they begged for more on the PA and waited thirty minutes. Where was everybody??
I heard a lot of suggestions that $100.00 to run your car was pricy. It was, most test and tunes are $15 to $20, But they had to charge for the two-day track rental which had to be pretty expensive.

As far as the hotel scene, it was full and very festive Both Thursday and Friday nights. Most likely reason nobody was at the track early on Saturday. Saturday night it was dead in the parking lot.
I didn't hang out late in the parking lot because I was there to run my car Friday morning and as it turned out, to fix it on Saturday morning. I didn't do the cruise, but I heard it was almost a disaster. They had everybody turn on their hazards so then nobody knew when the line was braking or not. Too many cars in too crowded of a town. Rant thread

There were a lot of high powered cars to see, and as J. said lots of cars with crazy lighting jobs. The parking lot at night looked like a disco floor. To each their own. I'm thinking AAC was the big winner this weekend, maybe HexVent too. Those vents were $399 installed. Maybe I'll wait till next year and see how they all look after a year of exposure.

I agree. The first fest was about putting faces with names and meeting people. Seeing the latest performance mods and talking to the owners about them. I was looking forward to meeting new people this year and seeing what was new but other than meeting DGthe3 in an elevator I didn't meet anyone new because I just walked past all the rolling discotechs. Still had a great time with the Ohio gang and running into others that I know from previous events

No, I'm dead serious. Seeing that it was close and I hardly spent any money, it wasn't a total loss. Plus I got to hang out with my buddies but I would have been just as happy doing that at home.

I only saw your car run once. Who ever was driving had a shitty start. It ran like 10.6 and was not running with anyone so maybe the pressure was off.

I'd like to see it hook good.

But no, I thought fest was a flop. Maybe it was the length, cost and weather...

My car was running on waste gate springs only. It was started for the first time Thursday and it was tuned late Thursday night. It was then racing on Friday and Saturday strictly as a test and tune. We now know what we need to do to improve the launches. They will put the boost controller in and make a few more adjustments in the next few weeks. I was very happy with how the car performed for the first time out.

I will say that aside from the autox, it never really seemed that busy anywhere. This was my 1st fest and I expected lines of cars everywhere (aside from the AAC installs). Like mentioned before the drags were never packed, and autox was probably only packed because it was not always going smoothly.

As part of CICC we handled the car show registration and judging. We were told to plan for 500 or more cars to be judged within 2hrs! I think in the end we had about 50 cars total register for the show .

I think I saw more cars at the host hotel than at the track when I was there. I had a good time, and of course I enjoyed it being close to home. But if I had drove 12hrs I would probably be a bit more disappointed. I did feel charging $100 to be a driver was a bit steep. Everybody says how expensive it is to rent this track, but after losing the NASCAR races this year they should be begging for events!

And I do agree with what Jason said, some cars were simply stunning and others had some of the worst DIY jobs I have ever seen. And when it got dark at the host hotel, it looked like a carnival midway with all the flashing and rainbow colored lights!

Yeah, the parking lot at the hotel was jammed. I don't think everyone who was there went to the track. Maybe it was because it was so damn hot!

I think it's bc most people that own this car don't give a rats ass about performance or racing. All they care about is who has the most LEDs and flashing lights.

I'm really embarrassed for what the Camaro has become.

Well, I had a blast. Many of the drag race cars were awesome. I got to talk to several of the owners of the big cars and talk to them about how they set their cars up. I learned a lot.

I also was amazed at the collaboration between race teams. We had some help from a couple of groups and we helped out some others.

I enjoyed the whole experience. Even some of the light shows in the parking lot were entertaining. Not my cup of tea for my car, but the owners and their friends were having fun with it.

I made a few suggestions to the organizers to make things better next year and I think they got some good suggestions from others.

If you have it near a big city like Indy, people will want to go sightseeing. Downtown Indy is pretty nice! Especially when they're there for three days. As far as heat, everybody should have expected that in August, but over two or three days you're going to lose folks. I can take one day with full sun OK, second is tough. I was happy to see all the clouds on Saturday, but then it got humid.

Just commenting on what I saw, but I had a good time as well. Enjoyed the drag racing, vendors, my thrill ride with Danny, the parking lot car show and hangin with the Cincy Speed crew!
