Procharger F1-R or Whipple 2.9l.

Pro Charger or Whipple

So here’s the deal, I’m in the middle of a big build and I’m torn between going with a 2.9 whipple super charger, and a Procharger F1-R (would use a 102 mm FAST intake). Does anyone have any input on which one will get me a faster ¼ mile.

Info to help with your input….

Running a TSP 418 with a 4in stroke and 9.5:1 compression, 4L80E transmission, DSS9” rear end, PFADT Stage 3 suspension kit, Yank 3400 torque converter, 2000cc injectors, WCC Ported Heads.

Im running 20x10 wheels with a 315 nitto invo tire.

I know the Porcharger has a little delay to get into boost and the whipple is instant. Just wondering what the gear heads think.

I will be posting a video and lots of pics of the final build and Dyno results. Should be interesting.

Too many factors to say which will give you a better ET, but the Procharger will definately allow you to make more HP if you combo allows it.

Another ProCharger vote. Higher boost potential at higher RPM.

The blower and your power level isn't the main factor in getting a better quarter mile time. That is more dependent on your tire and suspension setup. Power is going to get you the higher ET numbers.

The procharger will be alot easier to manage out of the hole. I also believe your it's will be easier to control with the procharger. With you're combo that engine will be moving tons of air. So......go with the centri.

Why not go with GM's Eaton SuperCharger used in the ZL1

I don't know what max power the 2.9 makes, but the F1R is regarded as a high 7 second blower in lighter cars. I'd poke around and compare belt slip between the two systems as well.

Prochargers are pretty quick. I'd go with one of those.

Your gonna be drag racing with 20'' wheels? Not a good idea if your shooting for the best et's, with any combo.

I am bias but as you can tell I am all for Procharger. I had a TVS2300 before and I love the F2
