Here is a before and after muffler delete vid I did on my otherwise completely stock LS3. A fairly good contrast, and includes a drive-by after the delete as well. I hope this helps as a reference, even though mine is LS3.

Sounds mean as hell, is it pretty loud? Cause I know if you throw any kind of muffler on it will quiet up a bit

The Flowmaster catbacks have no resonator, just straight pipes from the cat back to the mufflers. There is some drone at lower RPMs & when AFM kicks in but depends on your sensitivity to noise whether this will bother you or not. Sense there is no resonator behind the cat the exhaust noise is more louder both inside and out than the axle back. At least in my opinion some may feel differently. I have them installed on my 2012 L99.

I don't mind the "AFM drone" that I hear.. with the stock exhaust I couldn't hear it..

When I had the flowmaster mufflers on, I "noticed" it.. but I didn't mind it.

With the muffler delete, it's actually quieter at cruising than the flowmasters were. But If you do it, keep the stock center resonator. I imagine the AFM drone would get louder if you converted the center resonator to an x-pipe.

My gas mpg went down alittle after my muffler delete, mainly because whenever the afm kicks in I will goose the gas to shut it off. I do most driving now with the paddle shifting and I really enjoy downshifting to a light and let the engine do the braking, the rev match and gurgle thru the exhaust always turns heads.I have never had a cop give me any trouble when I do that and sometimes I get a thumbs up from them. No need to live in fear of the traffic ticket....
LOL..

I do that too.. love it when I down shift to 2nd at 35mph and hear the VROOOM... then again into 1st at 20mph.... VROOOM.. pop-pop-pop....

I did feel like my car was more "peppy" after the muffler delete.. But that could be just my "butt dyno" being psychosomatic.

Active Fuel Management- It shuts down the fuel to 4 cyclinders during low load to increase fuel economy.

Two words. Back pressure.

Don't do this if you drag race.

You don't have AFM. Its only on the L99 Automatics.

Unless you are there you don't know. Don't care what your books are telling you.

Yes I'm aware you have experience. Do I care? No. Stating facts from personal experience.
