THIS. True men drive manual, if your'e going to buy an Auto, might as well go to the arcade and drive the racing games with the kids. And if your excuse is that "it's faster on the drag", how many times are you going to go to the drag in your life? I'm pretty sure most Muscle car enthusiasts will agree that an auto is a waste of a car, GLAD I got manual. Not hating on people with auto's, just explaining that the manual is clearly better then the auto.

The manual is so Great that's why all the Exotic manufacturers like Ferrari and Lamborghini don't build manuals any more only F1 Autos. The Auto is a better performer all the way around. GM recognizes the demand for the Auto and thats why they build it in the Camaro.

Wow, I didn't even know they made auto ZL1's. The GT500 only comes in manual so I assumed the ZL1 would be the same. :( Was hoping to get a ZL1 soon but I just lost a bit of respect for them now. Does the Z06 Corvette come in manual only?

Your loss brother. The Z06 is a nice car and the 13' GT500 is on top of it's game. No need in getting a ZL1 if you've "loss respect for the car".

I agree. It doesn't matter to me. I thought long and hard about an automatic. If mine were a daily driver I probably would have gone with the automatic myself.

I have tried to promote the idea that an ideal transmission set up would be a manual with both a clutch and a locking torque converter in front of it. When you are in stop and go traffic you can flip a switch and let the converter slip and just use the brake pedal like an automatic. Flip the switch to lock the converter and you have the traditional manual tranny for the connected feel. My idea has missed it's time window because the future of automatics is the double clutch like Porsche, BMW, Audi and Mercedes are now using.
