1. get a good dyno tune, not the can tune that comes with the charger. IMHO the tune alone can get you some good numbers (if done right).

2. try and drop some weight from the car 2/10ths is about 200lbs from what i hear.

3. mufler delete can get you a few HP but we are talking maybe 4 at most on N/A.

What year is your truck? If it's an LLY or LBZ model Duramax, EFI Live will work wonders for you. If it's an older LB7 motor, you can try bigger injectors.

Edit: I see it's a 2003, which is still an LB7 motor. Start with upgrades to the fuel system like fuel rails, then a torque converter. That will get you to 100 pretty easily I think.

It will sound cool though.
The catback and mid pipes weigh 71 lbs, so that with the slightly better flow will gain him at least a tenth.

My money is still on no gain. Besides...I think he is talking disconnect as opposed to remove.

Yeah I don't think there is enough room to disconnect and just hang there. The pipes would still line up, you would have to remove it to free up the exhaust path.

If OP runs open headers the weight drop will help as J noted and it should run quicker. Why not try and report back. Keep track of weather.

If running full exhaust helped we would run them on dedicated drag cars.

Though the ET improvement will be due to a mix.

REPORTING BACK! went a different route, bought LG Motorsports 1 7/8th headers with there 3 inch exhaust with x pipe. the 3inch goes back to the axle then reduces to 2 1/2" and hooks to the factory mufflers. took it to denver for a tune and when we were done we pulled the factory mufflers off and did one more pull. we gained 10hp! tune did not change. air fuel stayed the same. pretty awesome for 3 minutes worth of work (take off 2 exhaust clamps and pull the mufflers off). Old School Rules! and superchargers like to breathe! I guess this is why most of the axle back systems are claiming 10hp.
