Average time to install... Headers?
Looking for an average time of install completion of headers. I'm also curious of any issues that arouse during install or anything that you weren't ready for.
I got some borla LTs no cats and I'm tryin to play my days and see how the install goes. Also what do people recommend for tuning with these headers? tia

Install is 2-3 hours. Be sure to remove your spark plugs...
Tune, I used a diablo sport and had a guy tune it through email for 100 bucks.... |

If its your first time but you're mechanically inclined 2 hours. I did mine full swap from turn off to start up in 2 hours on race ramps. the second set I time in just about an hour.
lay out your tools before hand tho makes life easy. I didn't remove my plugs I was just careful not to bump them. The recommend you remove them so you dont hit and crack one.

Depending if you have a jack and jack stands or access to a car lift, prolly looking at least 4 hrs or give yourself at least a day! Sure want to get it tuned after long tubes!I know there are a lot of good tuners out there but I would strongly recommend Nelson Performance out of San Antonio, they done an excellent job on my 350 vortec sbilverado ! You can also check out LS1.com!

I would plan for about 4 hours with the help of a friend. That's about what I remember the first time I did a set. Better to plan for 4 and it take 2 than the opposite.
For tuning, if you don't have reputable person to take it to locally you should call Jannetty Racing and do one of their mail order tunes for about $400.

I did mine in an hour with a lift and air tools. I didn't remove the plugs, I was just careful not to bump them. I also didn't disconnect the battery, not sure why I needed to really.

Took me a little over 4 hours with several interruptions form my 1 and 2 year old. I was in no paticular hurry and did the install with hand tools on jack stands. The passenger manifold bolts were a PITA. Id reccomend getting a decent swivel for your extensions. Other then that not having a second set of hands leads to a lot of up and down that increases the install time exponentially.

Hell, it took me all day long. Did it on ramps, it was 100 degrees out and it was my first time installing headers on a vehicle. It really wasn't hard. The one really tricky part was putting the oil dipstick tube back in place. Good luck with that!
