Oh for the love of ***

I must have spend 2 hours washing and drying my car....to have water spots EVERYWHERE! Then, I had this nasty gunk everywhere that would not come off. Tried going over it with detailing spray and created MORE water spots! lol

Finally, exhausted and completely frustrated I threw in the towel and thought, f*** it, I'm going to a car wash, I mean swirl wash. By accident I call a detailing shop, and the man was so kind. He said he didn't "wash" cars, only detailed, but told me to bring my car in and he would tell me what was going on.

Ended up showing me how to get that nasty gunk off with detail spray and a microfiber towel. Also told me about a different towel to use for drying the car and showed me a wash mitt online that I could buy. He didn't sell any of this stuff, but was just being nice. I left a happy camper and with a renewed motivation to clean my car.

After all was said and done, I needed a little *retail therapy* so I went to Adams and ordered a whole lot of stuff. Hopefully, my next wash/detail will go a little bit smoother.

Well that felt good to get off my chest. Thanks for reading

Great to hear this but detail spray and a towel doesn't really remove water spots on your paint it just hide's them till you wash it again, here is a write up on " How to remove Water Spot's " that you should read up on. Don't forget that the Autopia Car Care Store has many " How to's " when comes to detailing your ride and great products from around the world.

The guys at Autopia, Junkman, and Dylan@Adams will ALWAYS steer you in the right direction. They each support different products but they know what they are talking about!

Just remember the 2 bucket wash system

I will def. have to pay someone to do that....it would probably take me all day to do the whole car with a piece of clay that small! I saw on the Adams guide that it takes time and *patience* to perfect your skill....so we shall see!

Actually, now they sell a product that's kinda like a clay towel. According to a lot of members, it works wonders and is a lot faster than clay while being just as efficient.

I keep on seeing that. I really want it but can't justify the cost for it ATM :(

I have been using this routine for the las 4 months and it is working well for me.

1. Two Bucket system With HOT water.
2. Meguires Gold Car Wash $10 just about anywhere
3. Two sided wash mitt, one side microfiber deep plush the other side spongy mesh material, for those stubborn bugs and tar spots. $10
4. After car is scrubbed clean wipe all the water away with an Absorber cloth. $12
5. Go over the entire dry car with Meguires Gold Quick wax spray.

My car never has water spots and aways has a fresh coat of wax.

I bought a pc7424 orbital polisher and Meguires products, have great results getting water spots off with their polish. It's a huge job if you do it by hand but with the machine it's a piece of cake.
The PC 7424 is great, but a bit large and heavy for girl-hands. If you can find a smaller lighter one you'll probably like it better. I bought mechanix gloves and that helps me grip it easier, otherwise by the time I'm done my hands hurt like crazy.
