nice writeup Crowley and congrats!
![]() I liked the idea of the 135i a lot when I first read about them. Sounded like a can't-miss car -- same powertrain as the 335, but a couple hundred pounds less and much smaller. But then when I actually saw them...I don't know about you, but I thought it was not one of BMW's better looking cars, to say the least! The 335 is a much better looking car, IMO. So, no doubt your Camaro is a big improvement in exterior styling over the B. ![]() Another thing that surprised me a little about the 135i is that I heard a lot of complaints about its ride being TOO soft. I heard this from a guy who had one at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the day I went there for an HPDE track day (see avatar for picture). He said the car was "squishy." And then I think it was Edmunds.com comparison with the Nissan 370Z, where they said the Nissan was ready for the race track straight out of the factory, but the BMW was more suited for a comfortable ride than flat-out handling. How do you compare the ride quality and firmness between the Camaro and the 135i? Is the Camaro much less "squishy?"

Actually I would say the are about the same firmness in regards to ride quality. Looks are subjective .. seems a lot of folks that like the 3 series (looks to plain jane for me except the M3) don't like the 1er. I myself thougt that the 135i was one of the better looking bmws .. LOL Crowley

I really like the 135i, but I have been a little scared-off by the high pressure fuel pump problems that you see a lot of on the BMW forums. And what seem like too many minor glitches for a BMW (stuff like the 3rd brake light lens falling off). I'm waiting to see if BMW fixes that stuff, while also watching how the new Camaro does in terms of reliability. I want a solid, reliable daily driver that doesn't need a lot of dealer attention.
