What Gear Do You Park In?

Typically when parking I always put it in the gear which you will be heading when you start back up. However I know that in the 2005 corvette manual transmission you had to have the car in reverse to completely shut down power to the car. Have not noticed the part in the manual for the Camaro about the M6 being in reverse. May have an affect if you park it for several days or extended time with running down the battery, could be the same deal they had with the 05 Corvette. I don't know why they would go back to that if they did because the reverse off in the Corvette was a huge problem.

This is exactly why the manual says reverse. I know from experience with vettes. It's not just with 2005 vettes either. I had a huge problem with dead batteries in my one vette unit someone told me to park it for extended times using reverse

To you knot heads that use neutral and the e-brake, you shouldn't be allowed to own a manual transmission car. In the old days, you would use reverse if you where parked heading downhill and 1st for uphill and either for flat surfaces always turning your wheels into the curb. First gear and reverse used to be the same gear in most manual transmissions. I was unaware that this is not so anymore as some of you mentioned them to be different ratios now.

sometimes first, sometimes reverse, usually dont even use the e-brake unless on a incline
