Look up the member Diet Coke. He started a huge thread about shaving weight.

Simple things - start with the spare/compressor, back seats/belts, passenger seat and the factory exhaust.

A little more serious? You can rip out the A/c, radio/speakers, carpet/insulation, we have carbon fiber rear deck lids.

Race only stuff.... Remove the front and rear bumper supports, airbags, heater core/system,

I'm sure someone will go nutz and get theirs under 3500 soon enough. It's just hard to do it on cars that are only a few years old.

I did some calculations. Algorithmic formulas indicate that the fuel in a quarter tank weighs only 25% as much as a full tank's fuel!

My calculations show 8 to 9 stones as the ideal stripper weight.

If you are intentional about the parts you select you can save weight at almost every turn. Headers and cat back, most suspension components, wheels, brake rotors, drive shaft, seats, most body panels, battery, etc. are all places that weight can be saved. It just depends on how you use your car, how much you are trying to save, and how much you are willing to pay to make it happen.

Start with the easy stuff, engine cover, intake cover, windshield washer bottle, swap factory exhaust manifolds for headers, stock exhaust weigh a ton.

It's going to depend on what you are willing to compromise on your car and why you need weight reduction. Are you tracking it? Drag racing, autocross, road course? What is your performance goal? How far are you willing to go to reach that goal? How much are you willing to spend on upgrades and lighter parts?

What are your goals for your car?
