Let me get this straight...they ripped you off/you agreed to pay 3k more...they want rave reviews on a survey, and unless you do that you're afraid of not getting free stuff...lol....dude, these dealers aren't God and you owe them nothing...you over-paid them and they are laughing their ass off that now you'll probably give them a good report....

No wonder dealerships and salesmen continue as unchecked liars and rip-offs lying in wait for the next sucker...

Since we're on the subject of surveys now..... I think it is a bad idea to have such an unwanted ordeal (taking a survey) to be the sole means a dealership is graded on.

People hate taking surveys unless there is an incentive. Incentivize the surveys and get skewed results. It's a lose-lose.

I guess there isn't really a better way to score a dealer though. Surveys can be good, but in the car sales business there is to much emphasis put on them.

I wrote service for the largest GMC dealer in Dallas for 12 yrs, those perfect service surveys could literally mean THOUSANDS to your paycheck. Granted it takes a lot of surveys to pull in those kinds of dollars. But that is how our pay structure was. So needless to say we kissed a lot of ass during those times.
Sorry to jack the thread

Absolutely enjoy the car...It's a car...

What they did was not right, what's done is done...

You don't want to get anybody in trouble? Who? The smiling-jack two-faced liars you shook hands with? Screw them and their survey...You might help the next customer by telling the truth in the survey...And never set foot in that dealership again and breathe the same air as these poor little salesman just trying to make a living by taking advantage of trusting people....

I would return it and buy elsewhere. Don't they still have that "love it or leave it" guarantee?

First mistake, You have to act like you don't need them, they need you.

Second mistake, never tell them your personal business.

NOW they knew you were without a car so they upped the price!

Shame on them!!

I think this was just on the remaining 2012's.

Honestly, you can't trust anyone anymore these days it's sad.

any takers?

Totally agree with this. My wife bought a Nissan last November and after she got home she re-read all the paper work and found that they screwed her out of $850. She went back to the dealer and fought with them for about an hour. They told her that they were going to mail her a check. With that she laughed and told them "I'll take MY Money Now", she told them they didn't have to wait for her to pay for the car and she was not waiting for HER money back that they screwed her out of. She got her money and left.

She still to this day hasn't received a survey either by email or snail mail. She has called Nissan about a 1/2 dozen times asking why she never received her survey. Seems to me that the dealer has some pull with someone in the survey dept.

I would have flipped at the dealership if they screwed me on a deal that was agreed on. I also would have walked around to every sales desk that had a customer there buying a car and would have told them to think twice before buying. And I sure as hell would trash the dealer in the survey!

Unfortunately, history has proven dealerships and salesman have no shame when it comes to the almighty dollar...(And then the gall to ask for a positive survey!)...Unbelieveable!..lol
For this to be the normal, traditional practice of dealerships is the real shame.

I'm failing to see where GM comes into the equation unless you're talking about a dealership General Manager...

Beezwax hit the nail on the head. Take that survey and hit'em with both barrels. Then give yourself a treat and file complaints with the BBB, AG, and anybody else you can think of. Hope it all works out for ya. Congrats on the new ride in any case.

Just as a counterpoint not all salespeople are out to screw you. Contrary to popular belief there are many good ones out there. But it's still to your best interest to do your homework, and keep them honest. Don't ever just rely on the salespersons word. They don't make the final decision. The sales Manager or owner usually has final say on all deals. Always get a signed deal sheet from them with everything spelled out beforehand.

As you know already you shoulkd have walked. I would tell them what they want to here and take the free stuff. Then give an honest review. If it burns them than shame on them.
