just wanted to drop my .02 cents on this thing. It's actually been awhile since ive been on this forum, since I sold my 2010 CGM SS about a year ago.
I actually was on the same train of thought as alot of these guys, and modded my camaro and used it as my track car. Bought it brand new, did coilovers, sway bars, CAI, longtube kooks headers, had a texas speed cam, ti dual valve springs etc., re-tune. was putting down about 450 rwhp. anyhow, I started running into problems, and GM wouldn't warranty since my car was modified. Had a coilpack go bad, then went through 3 power steering pumps, and finally oil pump failed and killed my motor. The car was 1 year old, had 37,000 miles on it. I rebuilt the motor, pulled off all the mods, and sold it. Yes, modding will change the car into a completely different beast, but it can also be a very expensive game to play. Just be sure your willing to deal with the worst case scenario if you needing to replace something major like your motor. |
