Stripe project... ideas?

Last week, I decided on what stripe I wanted: a center stripe from front to back. So, I went with a gloss black stripe and a metallic blue pinstripe around it (1/4" to 1/2").

I have the front figured out, but how/where to end the stripe in the rear is where I'm undecided. I'd like it to end on the trunk before the spoiler, but don't know whether to end it with a straight cut across or something different (unique). All ideas/comments/suggestions are welcome!

Here's what the stripe will look like from the front when complete: (to be completed in December 2012).

And here's what's been done so far:

For reference, here's a shot at the rear:

Love it. Maybe fading it to a ghost stripe on the back?

Looks great so far! I know you wanted it to stop on the trunk but I think it'd look awesome up the front part of the spoiler and if you wanted even down the back of the spoiler!!! Just my two cents, man. I'm sure it will look cool whatever you do with it.

Thanks! Originally I wanted the stripe to go onto the spoiler (front side only), so it would look complete. The only reason I'm hesitant to paint the stripe onto the spoiler is just in case I end up going with a different spoiler down the line, it'll be difficult to get rid of this one. Definitely something I need to think about though!

Couple of great ideas so far! In the photoshop, it's a little hard to see, but the stripe is outlined in blue (to match the bowties). The actual pinstripe may be thicker than that.

I would stop it at the hood and not do the roof but that is me. I like the color choices though

I like the way that looks! I couldn't go that far down in the back though, because the stripe would end up running into the rear blackout. But I like how the stripe comes to a point.

Thanks!

It'll definitely be a full length stripe. If I had a sunroof I probably wouldn't do the roof, but I want to tie the stripe together from front to back.

Out of curiosity, why wouldn't you do the roof?

This is the direction you want to go in, imo.

This is just my opinion, but to me the stripes should only continue on the same plane. The fourth gen was largely wedge-shaped, so stripes continuing on the roof make a reasonable amount of sense. The fifth gen is much less wedge-shaped, so stripes on the roof create a second plane and, in my opinion, a weird "break" in the striping. I've attached an image that hopefully illustrates my point.

Also, a roof stripe messes with the reverse mohawk.

But, of course, it's all personal preference in the end.
