Well that wire is toast for sure, and it's either from touching the exhaust or the leak is blowing on that wire. In any case that's the location of your problem no doubt. Hold onto the wire while the other guy starts it and see what happens.

Just start it and let it idle while you watch it in the dark tonight. They will arc again while it's running....

Were you able to pin point the exhaust leak? You don't need the neighbor for that, just start it up and let it run and look around and listen to see where its at.

out how
Lol i knew what he was trying to do but honestly its a good way to find out if that wire is bad. But no it did not shock me, the car started up normal since it was turned on recently even with the wire out. I plugged it back in and everything was still normal. i left it running for about 2 minutes and no arcing anywhere.

Well you more than likely won't be able to see it unless it is really bad and smutted up, rather just hear it. But I hear ya, I am sure your fed up with the whole damn thing.....kick back and have beer and watch some football.

This is crazy......i started to pull the trigger on hps's turbo kit a few months ago but im glad i didnt now. I also recommended my buddy with a v6 to get there turbo kit but i'll probably tell them to look for something else now, due to the issues ive seen with the long wait for the kit and your issues. Hope you get everything worked out man. I know it sucks to spend your hard earned money (in a shitty economy) for a product and installation just to have it not meet your standards. (I.e. not work)

The reason it wont start is 100% that plug wire..... Fix that issue first and move on to exhaust leaks.

a arc shouldnt cause it to delay , this is just something that u need to look at and fix, i think the injectors maybe ur problem, have u checked the header bolts?

cause i had a missing backfiring problem , and i would unplug each plug wire and start my car and it started fine. i ended up doing the 5 - 20 fuse pull and unplugged my battery over night and it fixed my issue. after about 4 or 5 months of tryin to figure it out.

Nobody had the wires in stock around town so i may have to order those tonight. I will be checking my header bolts and all the exhaust bolts i can reach without lifting the car today. I have to enjoy some football first and get my mind off the car for a few hours.

If your going to have to order some I would get something made to hold up to heat better. Did you figure out where that puff of smoke was coming from?
