Not sure why people are whining about this being reposted. It is a big story and big news. I, for one, am interested how this turns out.
But, lets keep making a million and one 'look who parked next to me' and 'someone hit my car' and 'I love my camaro' threads. How bout we merge that stuff?

Sometimes, it may be more prudent to handle something like this off-line, in today's litigious society. Some battles are more readily won by direct dealings instead of public panic and derision.
Not saying what this particular service department did was right. Obviously it was not something any one of us would want to have happen to our cars. (Good Lord, it makes me much more thankful to have a great dealer with which to deal). When any parties threaten legal action, the only one's who win are the attorneys.

What the OP ought to do is upload the full recording, in its entirety, to youtube and just post the timestamps of the relevant events.
Then, the lawyers for the dealership could no longer claim the audio was "misleadingly edited" Just a thought.

My buddy is the service manager at the dealer I bought my Camaro. Every time I take it in there, he goes mental - puts signs all over the car saying "DO NOT TOUCH/DRIVE, FOR [My buddy and my mechanic] ONLY". He makes sure nobody but him or my other guys touches it or drives it or anything...
... Now I'm starting to see why.
