Company's go in and out of bankruptcy all of the time without government intervention. I believe this would have happened again without shutting down production. However there are things more important than whether or not I get my car. Government taking over businesses is one of them. It scares me. Banks, auto makers, healthcare?

Well, unfortunately, this may only be a temporary fix, delaying the inevitable; but as long as you and I get our Camaros, damn the principle of it all, right?

(1) Your job isn't at risk if GM fails, am I correct?

(2) You expect to take delivery of a Camaro soon, according to your signature. You're aware that you would never get this car if the govt hadn't intervened, right?

(3) Your theory of how economies and governments work may or may not be correct. But Obama is doing what is doing because the people elected him to do it. If they'd wanted a laissez-faire advocate like yourself, they would have voted for you. That's democracy.

Finally, I don't oppose your philosophy per se, and I admire your willingness to stick to your principles. But that is not what people like Limbaugh want. They want Obama to fail, no matter what he does. For them, it's personal. And mighty selfish.

Now I'm bowing out. I've said all I have to say on this topic.

What Rush wanted was a normal Bankruptcy that gave power to the shareholders and kept the company private while re-writing all UAW contracts which would have kept GM alive and well with the Government help in the form of loans.. The opposite has happened and we have what we have.. I didn't hear Rush say anything about boycotting GM and I wouldn't agree with him if he did. As for Rush wanting Obama to fail, he stated many times he wants his socialist policies to fail which most conservative republicans do as well which is very normal behavior. The Camaro would have still been made under a typical bankruptcy structure that would have changed UAW contracts and yes, plants that did not function properly would have been closed down however that would have been a decision for American's not working for and taking orders from the government which is how our country should be run. I remember Mitt Romney had a good article which was posted long ago which explained the "conservatives" view on how to handle GM and its problems. I hope this explains why the Camaro would have still been produced after a controlled bankruptcy.

No need to bow out. This is a civil debate. A personal note, is your job at risk? I have been laid off once in my life. It's a scary time, lots of belt tightening, soul searching, but in the end I came out in a better place.
