I find it hard to believe that V8 owners would be concerned with someone judging them on a blind pole. Besides you don't have to post to vote.

No you do not need a 1000 voters to get a since on where this is going, V8s have not gotten close to catching up. Sorry V8 owners. but if this was a 1/4 mile I would have to say you have been smoked. IMHO
[wonders where anyone mentioned V8's "catching up"]

And good thing I'm not like "most V8 owners", then. No one is disputing LS/LT models outnumber the SS/ZL1. OP and others want more/cheaper performance parts, and think a poll showing what we already know might help. Goodonya.

Thanks for smoking us by sheer numbers, it allows the rest of us minorities to exist. We're all C5, please chillax, eh? Later—

I am very surprised at the number of Auto V6 cars... you guys shoulda test drove the M6! It was fun as heck in comparison (I tried both when I was looking to buy new). Ahh well, to each their own. They're all gorgeous cars.

I drove a V6 auto around the block and drove it back in the lot. Its great as a daily driver I guess. But for chirping in second and third you need a manual.

I have had many manual cars in the past, and they were fun for a while. For my needs the auto is just better for me.

V8 Manual. And after reading some of the thoughts about the V8 Manual owners, yes I am an enthusiast and this is my 3rd V8 Engine with a Manual tranny Camaro/TA.

Are some of you really honestly surprised and getting an ego boost that auto V6's outnumber every other model?

We've known this information for 3 years now. That's the only reason GM even sells the Camaro. Come on.

Exactly, to each their own. While a V6 or V8 manual may be the only choice for some folks, the auto versions are also fun to drive with enough power/performance for the mere mortal or daily driver. Most of the masses are not involved in the C5 forum and an auto meets/fits their needs. At the end of the day, it's still a Camaro no matter what engine or tranny is in there...

Pretty interesting split--approx 45% of total is V6 and 53% V8; autos are apprx 19% of V8 and manuals apprx 19% of V6. Don't know what the sample size needs to be for that to be a representative sample, but it is still a very even statisical distribution. And yes, I voted: V6, Auto.

Agree and true for nearly all cars out there... even a Miata w/ a manual tranny is more fun than an autobox.

The numbers/trend is interesting. The more who vote then the better the tallies can be trended continuously over time... as an accurate representation. Again, maybe mods will sticky this.

I agree, the results thus far are quite interesting. I would suspect that as the sample size grows the graph is going to stay roughly the same now.

Its different here on an enthusiast's site, but in the real world sales, you should see at leas 60% or more sales being a V6. On the road, that's the ratio I see.
